💫 Dne 19. února proběhla na Katedra sociologie, andragogiky a kulturní antropologie UP oslava Evropského dne antropologie 💫
Letošní setkání na téma „Jak přežít polarizovanou společnost?“ nabídlo prostor pro inspirativní diskusi o vzniku a dopadech polarizace napříč současnou společností.
🥂 Součástí programu byl také křest knihy Den antropologie: maso, konflikt, důvěra, která vznikla díky loňskému Dni antropologie a navazuje na tehdejší debaty a setkání.
Organizátoři akce Katedra sociologie, andragogiky a kulturní antropologie UP zároveň vyhlašují Call for Chapters k připravovanému dalšímu vydání kolektivní monografie, tematicky navázané na letošní diskusi. Výzvu naleznete níže:
📢 We are pleased to announce a call for chapters for the second volume of the collective
monograph Anthropology Day, drawing on the workshop series at Palacky University Olomouc.
This year’s edition draws on the topic raised by the upcoming EASA2026 conference in Poznań, titled Anthropology: Possibilities in a Polarized World, and is centered on the question: „How to survive a polarized society?“
We aim to explore polarization not merely as a state of being between political binaries, but as a process and an epistemic challenge. Similarly, surviving is not seen as a prescription, but as the ability to reflect on one's own position, understand incomparable perspectives, and work with conflict without reducing or depoliticizing it. We welcome submissions on topics ranging from migration to the politicization of social media, and beyond.
Please submit the title, abstract (up to 350 words), 4-6 keywords, and author info (name,
institution) to [email protected] by Friday, 29th of May, 2026. Both your submission and the
chapter itself may be written in either English or Czech. The call for chapters is open to authors beyond the workshop presenters.
The deadline for finished chapters is Thursday, 1st of September, 2026 at the latest. The expected publication date for the finished volume is December 2026 to January 2027. For further information, do not hesitate to contact the volume's coordinating editor, Martin Látal ([email protected]).
