The school gates are open again! 🐝 After the summer break, Beehive is full of familiar faces, new classmates, and the first stories from the holidays. The first day was about settling in, seeing friends again, and getting ready for everything the new school year will bring 📚. We are looking forward to another year of learning, growing, and sharing everyday moments together 🌱.

The past school year at Beehive was filled with special events that brought our community together. 🍂🎃🌍

From our very first Fall Fair, where families, students, and teachers came together, to a spooky Halloween celebration and an International Day showcasing 13 different cultures, there was always something to celebrate, discover, and enjoy. 🤝✨

The school year at Beehive traditionally ends with our Garden Celebration 🌿☀️. Before it begins, our first graders take part in the Readers Ceremony, where they read aloud to their parents for the very first time 📖. They are proudly accompanied by our oldest students — the fifth graders — who later take part in their own Graduation Ceremony, marking the end of their journey at Beehive 🎓.

This year, each fifth grader held a tennis ball 🎾 as a symbol of their future — a reminder that it is something they should hold firmly in their own hands. At Beehive, we hope we have given them the foundations they need: knowledge, teamwork, independent and critical thinking, the confidence to present their ideas, empathy for others, and kindness towards themselves 🤍.

These values are at the heart of who we are: Beehive – Brave, Educated, Enthusiastic, Honest, Innovative, Versatile, Empathetic. 🐝

We wish all of our fifth graders every success as they begin this exciting new chapter of their lives. ✨

Our fifth graders closed an important chapter on their last day at Beehive 🎓🐝. In September, they will begin a new journey at different schools, but before saying goodbye, they signed each other’s school uniforms — one of the symbols of Beehive 🤍. It was a simple, spontaneous gesture that reflected the friendships and trust they built over the years. We will miss them, but they know they will always be welcome back, whether for our Halloween celebrations, Christmas Fair, or just to say hello ✨.

Every year, our school organizes a charity Easter Fair 🐣. This year, most students and teachers agreed that the proceeds should go to the Prague Zoo 🦁, where our school will adopt a red panda 🐼❤️.

To make the project part of our People and the World lessons, we decided to visit our new animal friend in person. Although the red panda preferred to stay hidden in its shelter away from the summer heat 🌞, the trip was still a great success. The children completed worksheets, learned more about animals and conservation 🌿, and thoroughly enjoyed this June adventure together. 😊

The end of the school year also marks the end of our fifth graders’ time at our school. Some of them have been together since kindergarten, so these final days are quite nostalgic. Most of the class is moving on to our sister school Square, but the group dynamic will naturally change – new friends will join, and the children will become our alumni.

Yesterday, we traditionally enjoyed paddleboarding, which we’ve been doing since third grade. Every year we enjoy it more, and under the guidance of an instructor, we keep improving our paddleboarding skills. The weather was perfect ☀️ and believe it or not – on the tram ride back to school, some of the kids were almost falling asleep 🚋.

While most of our fifth graders were away on their trip to Spain, the rest of the class decided to leave something behind for the students who will come after them 🎨🐝. As our fifth graders are getting ready to spread their wings beyond Beehive, they spent the day repainting their classroom under the careful guidance of our school caretaker.

From covering the floors and moving furniture to painting the walls and cleaning everything up, the children took responsibility for every step of the project. The classroom is now ready for the final days of this year's fifth graders and for many new adventures waiting for future Beehive students 🤍.
