NEW WORK: Czechia Sans™ 🇨🇿

The custom typeface Czechia Sans™ is part of the new unified visual identity of the Czech Republic.

Czechia Sans™ is a geometric sans serif based on a rectangular construction, with open forms and strictly horizontal stroke terminals. It is defined by a monolinear stroke, differentiated width proportions, formal consistency, and a high degree of detail uniformity. These characteristics ensure excellent legibility across various media and both traditional and contemporary display technologies.

The terminals of ascenders and descenders are finished with a distinctive wedge shape, referencing the symbolism of the national flag. To more clearly differentiate potentially confusable characters (Ilij1), both unilateral and bilateral flat serifs are employed. This improves readability in longer texts and enhances accessibility for visually impaired readers.

To support national minorities, the typeface includes, in addition to an extended Latin character set, Cyrillic and Greek scripts. Standard features include tabular figures, superior and inferior numerals, fractions, case-sensitive forms, arrows, and a wide range of supplementary symbols. The family is designed in weights from Regular to Black, including corresponding italics.

Icona Sans and Icona Serif are neutral typefaces with a high x-height, a wide range of weights with adequate italics, and an extensive character set covering Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek. Many alternative characters find use in changes of typesetting character, but they stand out especially in display sizes, where they can attract attention even in a seemingly serious presentation.

For Master & Master’s logo and visual style, this custom version of the Icona Sans typeface uses an alternate “r” that evokes the bent industrial material and a mirrored ampersand. This character has been redrawn to still conform to the stroke shading logic in this form.

⚫️ Yolo™ is a set of strictly geometric typefaces based on a fundamental circular, square, and rectangular base. Using a monolinear stroke in character construction, it combines refracted right angles and precise curves and ends all open shapes strictly horizontal or vertical. This gives the typeface a technicist to the industrial character.

The universal validity of neo-grotesque predestines this typeface as a reliable workhorse for complete typographic work. The meticulous drawing in detail, the exact spacing, and the multitude of character alternatives, on the one hand, make Yolo a timeless tool for creating logotypes. At the same time, its extensive range of weights and italics is dedicated to composing entire identities.

OpenType functions include several types of numerals, case-sensitive punctuation, or even arrow alternation. The character set offers a variety of symbols and shapes to enrich the raw typesetting, from useful currency symbols to gigantic quotation marks.

In addition to the Latin script, the font includes Cyrillic and Greek, covering the needs of over 3 billion potential users, making Yolo a highly effective tool with a global reach.

The overarching Aerokina brand for the club cinema network is created using slightly modified Franci font.
