Finding roots through art 🌿🎨
On Friday, October 31st, we held one of the NaNu Illustration Contests at the Vrije Hogeschool in Zeist, the Netherlands.
The illustrations are based by the real-life story of Jolanda, who migrated to the Netherlands and found her sense of belonging again through her connection with nature. 🌱 Her journey of rediscovery became the starting point for young adults to explore themes like identity, nature, and resilience through intergenerational storytelling.

🌿 On October 2 & 3, we met in Cyprus for our second Transnational Project Meeting. A heartfelt thank you to Ecoinclusive and Hub Nicosia for hosting us so generously.
We looked back on what we have accomplished:
📚 Desk research mapping how storytelling can raise ecological awareness in Cyprus, Netherlands & Belgium.
💬 Collected stories from older generations about their connection to nature
Next steps?
🎨 Children’s drawings will bring these stories to life in a storybook
📘 A guidebook will support educators in using these stories for ecological learning
Grateful for the journey so far and excited for what’s ahead. 💚
