Funtastic Learning was created based on the need of teachers and individuals to engage English learners to study through Game Based Learning (GBL).
Why use games to help students learn vocabulary and grammar?
When learners are exposed to GBL they simply learn better! It takes advantage of the psychological susceptibility of humans to become engrossed in gaming. After all this is how kids socialize, by playing games and by being competitive.
Through GBL teachers can greatly improve pupil engagement in a subject and provide themselves with instant feedback or use self-check methods and encourages the use of other teaching tools that can tailor a learning syllabus for each individual student.
Recent studies have proven that a student needs to redirect his/her concentration after the first twelve minutes, ie the attention span of a young learner is just around 15 minutes long. GBL can make every student become more focused through interactive learning. This leads to more engaged and productive students that absorb more knowledge, with better memory detainment for superior results in language learning.
Funtastic Learning’s vision is to engage with our young learners from a different point of view. A point of view that is more prominent to their own. Through Game-Based learning you can affiliate your youngsters attitude for learning and familiarize it through the learning from games as they are hardwired to learn through play. They automatically immerse into the game and learning becomes fun and carefree. Their cognitive functions advance exponentially by every exposure they get, and they are eager to advance to the next level.
By the use of Game-Based learning you keep that student engaged and concentrated through the whole lesson. Do not be fooled, Game-Based learning will not overshadow or alter your lesson plan; on the contrary it will enhance and enrich it to a higher level.
Moreover, Game-Based learning can be used by Parents at home to improve their kids’ language skills; involving the whole family in a fun activity while spending quality time together.
Finally, all of us learn something new every day and as Albert Einstein once said “If you can't explain it to a six-year-old, you don't understand it yourself.”
