Many people have experienced trauma and struggle with its effects, including a wounded inner child. It's important to remember that the pain and emotions you feel are valid, and you deserve healing and peace.

One thing you can do to help your inner child is to give them the love and validation they may not have received during the traumatic experience. You can do this by practicing self-compassion.

Practicing self-compassion involves treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would offer to a dear friend who is struggling. Here are some ways you can cultivate self-compassion:

1. Treat yourself with kindness: When you make a mistake or feel upset, try to talk to yourself in a kind and gentle manner. Instead of berating yourself or engaging in negative self-talk, offer yourself words of encouragement and support.
2. Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness involves being present in the moment and observing your thoughts and feelings without judgment. When you feel stressed or overwhelmed, take a few moments to focus on your breath and observe your thoughts without getting caught up in them.
3. Validate your emotions: It's important to acknowledge and validate your emotions, even if they are difficult or uncomfortable. Instead of pushing them away or trying to suppress them, try to sit with them and offer yourself compassion and understanding.
4. Take care of your physical and emotional needs: Practicing self-compassion also means taking care of yourself physically and emotionally. This may involve getting enough sleep, eating nourishing foods, engaging in regular exercise, and doing things that bring you joy and relaxation.
5. Practice self-forgiveness: It's important to remember that everyone makes mistakes, and it's okay to forgive yourself for past actions or decisions. Try to focus on what you can learn from the experience and how you can grow and move forward.

Are you feeling stuck in your relationships, unable to move forward and create new, fulfilling connections? Just like an overflowing wardrobe, sometimes our lives can become cluttered with old things that no longer serve us. In order to make space for new experiences and relationships, it's important to let go of what's holding us back.

Think about your closet for a moment. If you never got rid of any of your old clothes, soon enough you wouldn't have any space left for new additions. It's the same with relationships. If you're holding onto old patterns and past hurts, you won't have the emotional space or capacity to form new, healthy connections.

Letting go of old relationships can be tough, but it's a necessary step towards growth and transformation. When you release what's no longer serving you, you make room for new possibilities and opportunities. Whether it's letting go of a toxic partner or distancing yourself from a negative friend, trust that the universe has something better in store for you.

Remember, the act of clearing out the old to make space for the new is a continual process. Just like you regularly clean out your closet to make room for new clothes, you need to continually let go of what no longer serves you in order to create space for new experiences and relationships. Trust that each time you let go, you make room for something greater.

"Don't believe your thoughts when they tell you that you are terrible nor when they tell you that you are a saint" by Elder Paisios suggests that we should not take our thoughts and inner experiences too seriously or identify too closely with them.

Our thoughts can be influenced by many factors, including our past experiences, our current emotional state, and our environment. Sometimes our thoughts can lead us to believe that we are either exceptionally good or exceptionally bad, which can cause us to become either prideful or discouraged.

The advice to "not believe your thoughts" means that we should be aware of our thoughts and feelings, but not let them dictate our sense of self-worth or our behavior. Instead, we should strive to base our self-concept on a deeper, more enduring reality, such as our relationship with God or our commitment to living a virtuous life.

By not taking our thoughts too seriously, we can cultivate a more balanced and objective perspective on ourselves and the world around us, which can help us navigate the challenges of life with greater wisdom and compassion
