EU-DRIVE presented during the 9th International Staff Week of the University of Thessaly.

EU-DRIVE presented at the 9th Erasmus Staff Week of the University of Thessaly🇬🇷 (Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλίας)

On 8 July 2026, the Centre for European Projects of the University of Thessaly had the opportunity to present the EU-DRIVE (European Upskilling in Disaster Resilience and Innovation in Vocational Excellence) project during the 9th Erasmus Staff Week, organized by the Office of International Educational Programmes of the University of Thessaly.

The presentation introduced participants from higher education institutions across Europe to EU-DRIVE's vision of strengthening vocational excellence in Disaster Risk Management (DRM), civil protection, and climate resilience.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, showcase the project's objectives and expected impact, and foster new connections with the international academic community.

Présentation partenaire EU-DRIVE n° 10 !

Nous traversons les frontières, de l'Italie 🇮🇹 à la France 🇫🇷, pour vous présenter Nîmes Métropole.

Agglomération regroupant la ville historique de Nîmes - Ville de Nîmes et 38 communes limitrophes, elle compte plus de 260 000 habitants dans La Région Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée, dans le sud de la France.

Fortement axée sur la protection civile, la gestion des risques et la préparation aux situations d'urgence, Nîmes Métropole s'attache à fédérer les actions de protection civile. L'aéroport de Nîmes Grande Provence Méditerranée abrite la Base Aérienne nationale de la Sécurité civile (BASC), tandis que l'initiative huB46 ambitionne de devenir un hub européen pour la protection civile.

S'appuyant sur l'expertise acquise grâce aux projets Project NEMAUSUS et SEMEDFIRE, financés par l'UE, Nîmes Métropole joue un rôle majeur au sein d'EU-DRIVE, en pilotant le volet Communication, Diffusion, Durabilité et Impact.

Nîmes Métropole est responsable de l'élaboration et de la mise en œuvre de la stratégie de communication sur 48 mois, incluant la création et la gestion de l'écosystème numérique d'EU-DRIVE, le site web multilingue et la cogestion des réseaux sociaux avec le coordinateur, l'Université européenne de Chypre (European University Cyprus) – Centre d'excellence en sciences du risque et de la décision (Centre of Excellence in Risk & Decision Sciences).

Nîmes Métropole élaborera également le plan d'action du pôle régional français, organisera une table ronde stratégique à Nîmes et coordonnera tous les événements physiques et webinaires du projet. Par ailleurs, afin d'assurer la continuité de la formation à long terme et la préparation régionale aux situations d'urgence, Nîmes Métropole mettra en œuvre les programmes de formation élaborés directement dans le cadre de son initiative huB46.

EU-DRIVE partner spotlight #10!

We cross borders from Italy🇮🇹 to France🇫🇷 to introduce Nîmes Métropole.

An agglomeration of municipalities of the ancient city of Nîmes - Ville de Nîmes and 38 surrounding communities, with more than 260000 residents in the Occitania region of southern France.

With a strong focus on civil protection, risk management, and preparedness, Nîmes Métropole works to cluster civil protection actions. The Nîmes Grande Provence Mediterranee airport hosts France's National Civil Protection - Sécurité civile Air Base (BASC), while the huB46 initiative is aiming to become a European hub for civil protection.

Building on expertise from EU-funded projects NEMAUSUS & SEMEDFIRE, Nîmes Métropole has an important role in EU-DRIVE, leading the Communication, Dissemination, Sustainability, and Impact work package.

it is responsible for the development and ex*****on of the 48-month CDOI strategy, including the creation and management of EU-DRIVE's digital ecosystem, the multilingual website and the co-management of social media with coordinator European University Cyprus - Centre of Excellence in Risk & Decision Sciences. It will also draft the French Regional Hub Action Plan, host a Strategic Policy Roundtable in Nimes & coordinate all international multiplier events and webinars of the project.
Additionally, to ensure long-term educational continuity and regional emergency readiness, Nîmes Métropole will operationalize the developed training curricula directly within its huB46 initiative.

It's time to present our 3rd Italian partner: Enfap Marche!
Accredited by the Marche Region Regione Marche, ENFAP is dedicated to providing concrete job training, career guidance, and employment support for youth, workers, and businesses.

An institutional pillar in adult upskilling, ENFAP brings 20+ years of experience, having delivered 120000 hours of courses to 7500 learners in logistics, health, renewable energy & digital tech!

A member of the Alliance for Apprenticeships, ENFAP brings deep expertise from projects like the ERASMUS+ RAPP (https://erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu/it/projects/search/details/2018-1-IT01-KA202-006806 ) to establish modular, competency-based curriculum architectures. They are also pioneers in integrating AI into VET education!

In EU-DRIVE, ENFAP’s practical network is crucial. Their team will implement two Pilot Training Programs in Italy 🇮🇹, manage Italian translations of key outputs and formally embed DRM modules across their training portfolio.

By leveraging applied AI, ENFAP will refine EU-DRIVE materials to provide personalized learning, ensuring inclusive vocational excellence for low-skilled learners.

Moving our focus to Italy🇮🇹, we are thrilled to introduce the historic and prestigious University of Camerino. One of Italy's most ancient universities.

UNICAM - Universita' degli Studi di Camerino perfectly bridges historic academic excellence with a thriving international and entrepreneurial research culture. Across its five academic Schools, it brings multidisciplinary depth to our consortium in fields critical to disaster resilience, including geology, urban planning, environmental risk, and geo-resources.

A true cornerstone of innovation in vocational training, it boasts an accredited VET Centre of Excellence since 2001. With a portfolio of more than 50 EU-funded projects, the expertise of UNICAM's project team in co-designing competence-based disaster education is irrefutable.

In EU-DRIVE, UNICAM serves as a core Research Partner, providing analytical, methodological, and innovation leadership. The team will lead the Italian Needs & Gap Assessment, host an upcoming Multiplier Event, and publish open-access manuals to share project insights globally.

And to ensure EU-DRIVE's sustainability, UNICAM will embed the developed DRM modules directly into its accredited Master of Science programs, ensuring a lasting impact.
