The official name of the foundation is: Foundation Netherlands Antilles Youth Network for Employment and Enterprise Development” and was founded in 2004 by an international youth work expert named Mrs. Desirée Ogenia-Isenia took the challenging task of president of the foundation from Mrs. Shortly after the foundation was founded, the board decided to use an abbreviation of the very long name and

as result the name became a very functional and creative name: “Youth NEED Foundation”. After a period of not being really active, YNF startup its community works again full of enthusiasm. Purpose of the Foundation is to support and carry out work to benefit the youth of the Dutch Caribbean. This will be achieved by the development and implementation of programs and services focused on the reinforcement of young people by supporting them in their learning career, social and professional skills development. By using the concept of a healthy mind, body and soul development. We can be very proud of the fact that we are one of the few organizations, which support in particular underprivileged young people by giving them the opportunity to participate in an integral program to contribute in their development to a young Curaçao citizen with a positive future. We would like to introduce you, our recently developed project, entitled “Healthy Teens Development Program” especially for about 60 youngsters from 12 till 18 years. We offer during a period of 6 months up to 1 year a 3 days study career guidance training to support students with their study issues, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2 till 6 o’clock. HTDP is a program that support the youth with their study career by offering them the opportunity by supporting them on deferent area of their education. We are not an afterschool activity institute but a study career guidance institute. Our institution aim is to help our youth to guide them properly during their education career to improve their possibility in the future to become an employee or entrepreneur to be able to carry out their profession properly. This program for empowerment of the youth HTDP is principally finance by “Reda Sosial” with a additional small support of the parents of the participant that can contribute to the program. This program is especially for the youngster for whom their parents or guardian don’t have the possibility to pay for a program like this, they are taking part to this program freely and they receive also a small financially support by means of transportation cost etc. The criteria’s for selection to be admitted to this program are simply and very low boundary formulated. You need to have the desire as young people to start working on your abilities now and have the intense desire to rich their maximum potential in life. The participants will be trained in 4 major aspects, that we consider the 4 key development pillars for a proper youth development:

1. Health, nutrition development;
2. Physical and musical development;
3. Social, emotional, spiritual & personal development;
4. Knowledge and ability to function in our society and on the labor market/Cognitive development.

Despues di mas ku 8 aña tremendo na nos lokalidat aktual na Christinalaan 1, Emmastad, Youth NEED Foundation ta buska un hogar nobo! Nos ta dediká na kontinuá pa duna sosten na hóbennan di nos komunidat un programa despues di skol pa hóbennan di Enseñansa Avansa (VSBO/HAVO-VWO) ku enfoke riba sosten i guia pa tarea i desaroyo sosial emoshonal.
Pero nos tin mester di e espasio adekuá pa sigui logra esaki!
Bo sa di un espasio kaminda nos por sigui empoderá mente di ± 60 hóben kada aña eskolar? Yuda nos haña un espasio kaminda nos por sigui inspirá, guia, i elevá e generashon ku ta bini.
Nos ta un organisashon “nonprofit”, ta hasi nos búskeda un poko mas difísil. Pa hasi esaki posibel nos tin mester di bo yudansa. Bo sa di un edifisio ku ta para bashí i nan ta buskando hürdó.
