*** Important Adjudicator Information***

The following information was recently emailed to all adjudicators by the Co-Chief Adjudicators (Geneva Roy & Rok Hafner).

1. Judge Test

A reminder that the Judge Test (which was emailed to all adjudicators on 2nd July 2024) must be completed by all adjudicators by 12th July 2024 23:59 UTC+2. If you fail to complete this test, you may be classified as a ‘trainee’ judge for the tournament.

2. Judge Clash Form

All adjudicators will be automatically clashed from their own national team. An adjudicator’s own national team in this case refers to the country they are originally from, and their other country of residence(s).

However, adjudicators can request to be clashed from judging another particular national team or alongside another adjudicator using the following form: https://forms.gle/pRDPMvUc5GgW83wUA
- The reasons why you can request to be clashed from judging a particular national team, include but are not limited to: past coaching of the particular national team or individual members, past or present romantic relationship with the coach, involvement in the selection of the members of the national team. Please note that all adjudicators are required to state those clashes through filling in the form.
- Additionally adjudicators may wish to be clashed from judging with other adjudicators for reasons including but not limited to: past or present romantic relationship, previous code of conduct issues. All adjudicators should request these clashes through filling in the form.
- All clashes will be reviewed by the Co-Chief Adjudicators.

3. Independent Adjudicator Payment

All independent adjudicators who received a travel subsidy will receive their payment before the conclusion of WSDC Serbia (i.e. 26th July 2024). Our Organisational Committee is able to provide this payment via PayPal or Bank Transfer (please note that cash cannot be given).

Please complete the following form https://forms.gle/H34ozMCiQkm4fnd49 to provide your preferred payment details by 15th July 2024 23:59 UTC. Should you not complete this form by the above deadline we cannot guarantee you will receive your payment by the 26th July 2024 and may have to receive funds at a later date.

***Serbia WSDC 2024 Pre-Tournament Seedings & Draw Announcement***

Dear WSDC Community,

The following information has been communicated to all coaches and team mangers via the emails provided in registration.

These are the official pre tournament seedings for Serbia WSDC 2024.

This year’s WSDC has 68 nations. Based on the historic rankings of the previous 3 WSDCs (WSDC 2021, WSDC 2022, WSDC 2023) each team has been ranked 1st to 68th. Going by the rules, we have split the 68 nations into 4 groups of 17 (Groups A, B, C and D). These seedings will be used to generate the draw for Round 1 and 2.

The calculations for the seedings can be found at this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oDI4K02gbT7fz3groTOfCSX9fUDpRa7FW4LQEoQSNHM/edit?usp=sharing . We ask all nations to please check their seeding calculation, and contact us within 48 hours at [email protected] if they believe there to be an error regarding the seeding. On Tuesday 25th 2024 at 7:30pm UTC+2, the draw will be created via live stream on the page https://www.facebook.com/serbiawsdc2024 .

For the generation of the draw, teams in Group A will face a team in Group B in Round 1 and a team in Group C in Round 2. Teams in Group B will face a team in Group A in Round 1 and a team in Group D in Round 2. Teams in Group C will face a team in Group D in Round 1 and a team in Group A in Round 2. Teams in Group D will face a team in Group C in Round 1 and a team in Group B in Round 2.

Hence the draw for Rounds 1 and 2 are as follows:
Round 1 Draw:
Group A v. Group B
Group D v. Group C
Round 2 Draw:
Group C v. Group A
Group B v. Group D

Rounds 1 and 2 are sidelocked, meaning a team that is proposition in Round 1 will be opposition in Round 2, and vice versa. Please note that the above setup does not mean that all group A will be proposition in round 1, and opposition in round 2.

Judge Training Academy - Serbia WSDC 2024

The Serbia WSDC 2024 CAP is organizing a Judge Training Academy for all adjudicators (independent and institutional) participating in the tournament. Each workshop will cover lectured content and interactive exercises and will occur on two dates to allow for different availability. All judges are strongly encouraged to attend one Foundation and Intermediate workshop, and those wishing to Chair or judge outrounds should also attend one Advanced workshop. No registration is required but attendance will be recorded. All workshops will take place from 5pm to 6pm UTC+2 (Serbia Time), and will be recorded for later release.

WSDC Preparation Competitions - Serbia WSDC 2023 Chief Adjudication Panel Involvement

Dear all,

Please see below the prepared motions for Serbia WSDC 2024 as confirmed by the Motions Committee 2024. The round that each motion will be debated during the tournament is stated prior to the motion.

Round 1: This House Supports strict state secularism* in Western Liberal Democracies.
*this includes prohibiting religious symbols in public spaces, not providing funding to religious schools and charities, not having an official state religion, etc.

Round 2: This House Prefers A World where Truth and Reconciliation Commissions were established to deal with the aftermath of the Yugoslav Wars rather than the ICTY.

Round 5: This House Believes That major tourist destinations should significantly limit the number of tourists that can visit.

Round 7: This House Supports France's exit from West Africa.

Please send all motion clarification questions to the Chair of the Motions Committee 2024 Martha McKinney-Perry exclusively at [email protected] with the Subject title “Motion Clarification - [Nation]”. Any motion clarification questions sent via another means or to another party are not guaranteed to be answered. The Motions Committee will endeavor to answer all questions as soon as possible, but any question will be answered within 7 days of submission. All motion clarifications will be published no later than Tuesday 2nd July 2024 23:59 UTC.

TLDR:
*You can apply for a Serbian VISA online through the government portal for foreigners:
https://welcometoserbia.gov.rs/home
*The VISA type you need to apply for is VISA C.
*The necessary documentation is listed in the VISA guide.
*One of the necessary documents is the Letter of Invitation which in order to get from us you need to fill in the following form: https://forms.gle/PCYHh7f9p9o1RJow5
*When filling it make sure that the information is in order so that the risk of a failed VISA application is minimised.

Fill it in as soon as possible, at least before 28.04.
