I want to share with you this delicious Authentic Typical Costarrican Dish with its Spanish twist.
It is called "Squash Flowers Picadillo Ahogadito" and is here accompanied by handmade YellowCorn Tortillas.
The term "Ahogadito" translates in English to "drowned" and refers to a Spanish cooking technique in which you cook ingredients slowly at a low heat drowned in Olive oil and its juices!
Note: These flowers are hard to come across, if not impossible.... in the markets of our country.
But, it is such a tasty typical Costarrican Dish that embodies our culture and seasonings
Pura Vida!

Delicia poco común,
Plato Típico Costarricense impregnado de la influencia española en nuestra cocina.
"Picadillo Ahogadito de Flor de Ayote" acompañado de Tortillas Palmeadas de Maíz Amarillo"
Este termino "Ahogadito" proviene de un platillo, técnica de cocina española en la cúal los ingredients son cocinados a fuego lento, ahogados en Aceite de Oliva y sus jugos!
Nota: Es casi imposible encontrar dichas flores en nuestras ferias del agricultor
Más, he aquí un platillo, que demuestra nuestra cultura buen sazón.
