Check out this awesome story! This Tuesday afternoon Erica Spanjers ran into the SuperCompro in Nicoya to grab a blue poweraid before the long drive back to San Jose. Naturally, she was wearing her JumpStart t-shirt. The young man working at the check out counter recognized the JumpStart logo, and guess what? His little brother was a JumpStart camper!
Two years ago his younger brother was a part of JumpStart with the Peace Corps in his town. He was truly impressed with the camp and the Peace Corp teacher. Even two years later this proud older brother was singing the praises of JumpStart.

A huge shout out to the students who continue to share in the legacy of JumpStart graduates.

Happy Peace Corps Week to the dozens and dozens of INCREDIBLE volunteers who have organized JumpStart camps since 2013. We could never have pulled this off without your tireless work, creativity, and willingness to do whatever it takes to help kids succeed (and to get Reese's!). THANK YOU!!! Tag a JumpStart PCV in the comments!

This week we had our famous fashion show day- always a hit with the students! Who said learning English had to be boring? JumpStart students participate in interactive lessons (such as this) that get their brain and body moving! This is how English is best taught!

Everything we do is hands-on, including our volunteer training. Yesterday, our amazing volunteer teachers from England, Oregon, California, Arizona - and Costa Rica! - jumped into a first-day demo with wonderful kids from El Triángulo de la Solidaridad, San José. It was a blast!

We love this map of Costa Rica that little Steven drew for us impromptu this morning at JumpStart teacher training in Triángulo de la Solidaridad so our volunteers could show the kids all the places they're going to teach English this month! Thank you Steven and El Triángulo for joining the JumpStart family today!

Even Grandma Betty is getting ready for JumpStart! She's been helping us cut out the laminated images that make up part of our interactive JumpStart curriculum. Only 10 days until our January Jumpstart 2017 camps begin! Thanks for all your help, Grandma Betty.
