A total of 550 Doley Books and Reading Guides were donated to all K-2 students at Bridgeport Elementary School yesterday. This bilingual book and accompanying bilingual reading guide were designed to help parents tutor their children in either Spanish or English. The guide has 134-question and answers that parents can use to work with their children in either language to help them think beyond the text. I am thrilled to share my Doley books in this way and to help support learning during the pandemic!

The Frye Art Museum is one of the very best places to purchase Doley books. This particular Seattle block is my favorite as it is home to the Frye Museum and St. James Cathedral. 2016 was a year which brought pivotal moments for the Doley book series. Notably, the release of The Caravan of Colors, winning the Moonbeam Award's Gold Medal for Best Spanish Language Book, and just before the year began, an interview on King 5's New Day Northwest! I tracked down the clip and am thrilled to be able to share it again. Last year, over 250 Doley books were donated to bilingual education programs in Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala and locally in Seattle! Also, Doley is more independent than ever after I made the decision to stop selling the books on Amazon. Interested in purchasing Doley books? Send me a message on FB! THANK YOU to Owen Elementary School in Illinois for inviting me to speak to 250 1st and 2nd graders via Facetime today! The enthusiasm of the students really lifted me up! They were prepared with SO many great questions about writing, Doley, Guatemala, volcanos, earthquakes and what it was like living in a treehouse with no electricity. Skype presentations are a fantastic way for me to connect with students all over the world! Please send me a message if you are interested in booking a Skype/Facetime presentation at your school! BEST question of the day: "Do you still live in the treehouse?" - pointing to the plant next to me in this picture ;-)
