Have you ever wondered what “block learning” means in Waldorf education? 🌿
In Waldorf schools, students spend several weeks deeply immersed in one main academic subject at a time. Rather than rushing from topic to topic, they are given the time to explore, question, create, practice, and truly connect with what they are learning.
A single block may weave together storytelling, writing, art, movement, observation, discussion, and hands-on experiences—all centered around the same subject. When the block ends, the subject is given time to rest before students return to it again later with new understanding and maturity.
This rhythm of immersion, rest, and return is an important part of Waldorf education. Instead of simply moving through information, we give children the time and space to go deeper—to experience learning in a way that is meaningful, connected, and lasting. ✨
