Most leadership programs are measured by what changes in the room. Ron's new piece asks the harder question: what's still there a year later, when the glow is gone and nobody is checking?

The CLQ numbers say something unusual. A referral likelihood of 9.4 out of 10, measured a full twelve months after the retreat. That curve is supposed to bend down. This one holds.

There's a statistic in Ron's new piece that's hard to shake: when there's an escalator next to the stairs, about 2% of people take the stairs.

Leaders are handed escalators constantly. The new system. The next hire. The framework that promises transformation without asking you to be transformed.

The hard work of conscious leadership is the climb almost everyone skips — steeper than the literal stairs, because the terrain is invisible, no one is watching, and the obstacle is you.

It also leads somewhere the escalator doesn't go.
