You brought make-believe into your relationship with God…

Nobody told you so you simply imported the only kind of belief the world taught you into your relationship with God.

Make-belief… Which is to bring something into imaginative existence. And you’ve wondered why it keep going up and down.

You cannot believe a promise without trusting the one who made it. If I give you my word, your belief in that word is not a decision you make about the word, it’s a verdict you’ve already reached about me.

So when the text says God gave his Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, the weight of that promise doesn’t rest on how hard you can believe.

It rests on whether you know the one speaking.

Which raises the only real question…

How do you come to trust someone you’ve never learned to know?

“I Don’t Belong”… You keep telling yourself I’m not ready. It’s not a feeling, it’s not preparation.

The idea that “You don’t belong” comes from two places…

1. The first is your relationship with who you used to be.

2. The second is a belief you’ve never examined: that your place has to be earned before it can be occupied.

Here’s the cost and affect you have not been able to identify. That very thought you impose upon everyone else.

You walk into the new position, the new season, the new relationship, and you hand everyone in the room the perception you’re holding about yourself. Then you read their response as confirmation.

You built the verdict and then went looking for the jury.

The reason it repeats is structural. A foundation built on performance can only ever produce a place you’re renting. Earn, occupy, doubt, re-earn.

There is no version of that where you finally arrive, because arrival was never in the design.

Set it on God instead and the whole calculation changes. Your certainty stops resting on what you produced and starts resting on who placed you there.

I sit here with conviction because my Father places and allowed me to be here. That’s an authority that doesn’t move when the room or season does.

A man who demands submission isn’t leading. He’s collecting evidence to validate his authority.

When you impose submission in your relationship, you’re not correcting her posture. You’re validating yours.

Your desire and need for compliance is to confirm something you haven’t settled in yourself.

A man who is clear on his authority doesn’t need it returned to him. If she isn’t submitting, that’s something she has to work through, something she is taught and lead through.

It isn’t a verdict on him. He can afford to give her space, because his authority was never on trial.

King, authority isn’t awarded by her response. It’s established before the relationship and held regardless of it.

Convicted by the Word. Convicted by your own actions. If it moves when she moves, it was never authority, it was performance waiting for an audience.

You learn from how God handled you. He never demanded your submission in a single moment. He gave you room to grow into it. Grace and space.

You received the very thing you’re refusing to extend to her, all because you have never established your authority internally.

Ask yourself…

Am I leading from an authority I’ve already accepted or am I still asking her to validate and confirm it for me?
