Open Letter to Hailiang Education's Global Alumni, International Students and Teachers

Dear alumni, students and teachers,

Spring of 2020 has been extraordinary. In the past month or so, China has embarked on a nationwide "epidemic" war, and is about to usher in the dawn of victory. But globally, the Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak is still across multiple countries: South Korea, Italy, The United State of America...... The world pandemic of COVID-19 makes us anxious and worried again. Hailiang Education cares about every Chinese student studying abroad and international students who are planning to study in China. We are always paying attention to the changes in the epidemic and are worried about your safety.

On March 11th, Zhuji City Overseas Students and Family Association launched a donation initiative to support overseas Chinese students and their families with practical actions. The Hailiang Education Management Group's Returned Overseas Chinese Federation responded actively and applied for CNY100,000 (one hundred thousand) from the Zhejiang Hailiang Charity Foundation to support this aid operation! The Chairman, Secretary General and many members of the Hailiang Overseas Chinese Federation joined the volunteer team, providing volunteer services to nearly 1,000 overseas students and their families.

As an old Chinese saying；being alone is like a spark, but sparks can be united as fire and flames. In addition to fundraising and emergency assistance, Hailiang Education Overseas Chinese Federation hopes to bring everyone together to set up the "Hailiang Global Alumni Association" to unite international students who are studying at Hailiang Education, Hailiang graduates studying overseas, and Hailiang graduates who work overseas. Let us work together, help and support each other in the future on the road of life!

The outbreak is ruthless, but we don’t need to be. We must pay attention to the present, and also look into the future! Every overseas student of Hailiang Education, international students and alumni working overseas, please take action! Scan the QR code on WeChat, and apply to join the "Hailiang Global Alumni Association". We will provide exclusive services for each international student and alumni who are overseas: mailing out epidemic prevention supplies for you, and assisting you in purchasing flight tickets to returning home, and etc. We will do our best to help achieve your needs! 05 December 2019: The third IB Collaboration meeting at Hailiang Foreign Language School occurred today with the focus on the topic of International Mindedness. Our IB Coordinator Lynn Wong led the meeting as teachers worked together to collaborate on methods and techniques to integrate international mindedness throughout the school community.
