💥💥💥 published a paper reporting the analysis of squeezing-induced failure in a water tunnel and measure of rehabilitation: A case study of Tishreen tunnel, Syria. phenomena can lead to severe loads in deep tunnels, especially in the presence of a low ratio of surrounding to overburden pressure. For this reason, it is highly imperative to analyze and identify a suitable methodology to estimate the squeezing potential and select a proper of rock mass.

Different failure modes observed in Tishreen tunnel include Floor heave, wall spalling, crashing of slab, and lining convergence reaching the failure limit.

👉👉👉Researchers discussed the compressive behavior of high-water material for deep underground spaces in . No visible crack was observed for the lateral-confined high-water material. The relationship between confining stress and the circumferential strain of the confined was established. The bleeding of free water from the high-water material was first theoretically investigated.

🔥🔥🔥The paper ‘Seismic performance of tunnel–sand–pile interaction by the shake table test’ highlights 1) prepared concrete –sand–pile interaction model for dry conditions on a shake table; 2) considered static load impact on each pile cap along with seismic excitations; 3) calculated square root sum of squares displacements and tunnel moments; 4) predicted relative density corresponding minimum displacements and moments.

This research presents the square root sum of squares response of displacements and tunnel moments under the Kobe and Loma Prieta seismic excitations with a peak ground acceleration of 0.05 g for var...

🥇New Paper Alert: Gas migration at the granite–bentonite interface under semirigid boundary conditions in the context of high-level radioactive waste disposal. tests indicate that the gas breakthrough pressure of the mock-up is lower than that of bentonite itself, which means that granite or the granite–bentonite interface is a potential gas migration pathway.
Find out more:

A series of water infiltration tests and gas permeability tests were conducted on granite and granite–bentonite samples. According to the results, the interfaces between granite and bentonite and the...

🥇The Edikan Mine, which consists of Fobinso and Esuajah deposits, lies within the Asankrangwa Gold Belt of the Birimian Supergroup in the Kumasi Basin. The in the Basins and the faulted metavolcanic rocks in the Belts that make up the Birimian Supergroup were intruded by during the Eburnean Orogeny. This study aims to classify granitoids in the Edikan Mine and ascertain the petrogenetic and geochemical characteristics of some auriferous granitoids in the wider Kumasi Basin, Ghana. Check it out at

The Fobinso granitoids are granodiorites, while the Esuajah granitoids are granites based on their mineralogical composition. The granitoids are generally enriched in LILE and LREE than HFSE, MREE, a...

❓Are you interested in the multiscale numerical modeling of rock mechanics and rock engineering? This Review Article in compiles the history of theoretical developments and numerical techniques related to multiscale issues according to different modeling architectures, i.e., the homogenization theory, the hierarchical approach, and the concurrent approach. More attention should be paid to the development of an advanced model with consideration of fine geometrical descriptions of rock to facilitate solutions to problems in rock mechanics and rock engineering. Details at

Multiscale numerical methods of rock mechanics and rock engineering are reviewed, and the review results show that more attention should be paid to the development of an advanced constitutive model i...

💥New Review Article in . The 10,000m ultradeep dolomite reservoir holds significant potential as a successor field for future oil and in China's marine craton basin. However, major challenges such as the genesis of dolomite, the formation time of high-quality reservoirs, and the preservation mechanism of reservoirs have always limited exploration decision-making. This research systematically elaborates on the genesis and reservoir-forming mechanisms of Sinian–Cambrian , discussing the ancient marine environment where microorganisms and dolomite develop, which controls the formation of large-scale Precambrian–Cambrian dolomite.
