HZAU Delegation Honors Outstanding Alumnus Dr. Abdelbaky Hossam Elgarhy , Discusses Collaboration in Egypt

A delegation from Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) visited Egypt to strengthen institutional ties and honor Dr. Abdelbaky Hossam Elgarhy, a distinguished alumnus, following his appointment as Egypt Alumni Liaison. The delegation was led by Mr. Wang Ruibin, Vice Dean of the Graduate School, and included Mrs. Guo Zhen from the International Students Office and Mrs. Xuying from the International Cooperation Department.

During the meeting, Vice Dean Wang Ruibin presented Dr. Elgarhy with gifts in recognition of his new role and achievements as the Outstanding PhD Graduate of the year. The parties discussed future collaborations between HZAU and the National Water Research Center of Egypt, as well as other Egyptian universities and research institutions.

The dialogue emphasized shared goals in water research, sustainability, and academic exchange, with Dr. Elgarhy invited to return to HZAU as a visiting scholar or postdoctoral researcher. The event concluded with a cultural exchange, featuring the traditional Egyptian dessert Om Ali, symbolizing the warm and collaborative spirit between the two sides.

This engagement reinforces HZAU’s commitment to global partnerships and the vital role of its alumni network in fostering international cooperation.

The Department of Scientific Research and Development (DSRD), ISVC successfully organized a two-day R Workshop, aimed at enhancing students’ skills in data analysis and visualization.

The session provided participants with hands-on exposure to R, practical demonstrations, and valuable insights into its applications in academic research. Active participation and thoughtful discussions contributed to the overall success of the workshop.

We sincerely thank the respected speaker Prof. Qiusheng Kong, volunteers, and all participants for their cooperation and engagement. DSRD remains committed to organizing high-quality academic and skill-development activities for the university community.
