AP Biology 2025: Five Free-Response Question Explanations in One Video

I've combined five of my previously published AP Biology 2025 exam-question videos into one longer revision resource.

The compilation covers:

1. FRQ 1(c)(iii)
2. FRQ 2(a)
3. FRQ 3(c) — Buffelgrass investigation and null hypothesis
4. FRQ 4(b) — Geographic isolation, gene flow and speciation
5. FRQ 5(b) — Feedback inhibition and allosteric regulation

Each segment focuses on a specific question part and the reasoning needed to develop an effective exam response.

Students can use this video to practise independently, check their understanding and review the official College Board scoring expectations.

My recommendation is to attempt each question before watching its explanation.

This video is part of the Bio Exam Coach project, where I analyse real Biology examination questions and explain how students can improve their answers.

How well can you apply your A-Level Biology knowledge when Cambridge turns it into an exam question?

In this combined video, I break down four Cambridge International AS & A Level Biology 9700 questions:

① 9700/12 Q23 — Four Mitotic Cycles
② 9700/12 Q24 — Mitosis Trap: DNA Replication?
③ 9700/12 Q25 — Nucleotide Trap
④ 9700/22 Q5(b) — Etoposide, TOP2A & Apoptosis

These questions cover very different areas of biology, but the exam skill behind them is similar:

Don't simply recognise the topic.

Read precisely.
Identify what is actually being tested.
Avoid the trap.
Apply your biological knowledge.
Then select or construct the answer.

This is the difference between knowing Biology and being able to score with that knowledge in an examination.

What can the 2026 IB Biology results teach you about your next exam?

And how should you prepare for the new 2028 IB Biology Data Booklet?

In this complete video, I bring together THREE important areas of IB Biology exam preparation:

① 2026 IB Biology Results & Common Mistakes
What can we learn from student performance, and which mistakes should you avoid?

② Examiner Thinking & Scoring
Knowing biology is not enough. You need to understand what the question is asking, how marks are awarded, and how to turn your knowledge into a high-scoring answer.

③ The 2028 IB Biology Data Booklet
The Data Booklet is not just an appendix. Learn to treat it as an exam tool and use it strategically.

These three topics lead to one important lesson:

Don’t just study more.
Learn how to perform better in the exam.

Understand the biology.
Understand the question.
Understand the examiner.
Use the resources you are given.

Starting an international Biology course requires more than memorising content.

I created this Biology Starter Guide & Roadmap to help students and parents understand the four major Biology pathways:

• IB Biology
• Cambridge A-Level Biology
• AP Biology
• Cambridge IGCSE Biology

The video explains what students should expect, how each syllabus is structured, and how to prepare effectively from the beginning.

A strong foundation at the start can make the entire Biology journey much easier.

IGCSE BIOLOGY 2026 — PAPER 2 Q29

A cell divides by mitosis every 3 hours and 24 minutes.

How long will it take to produce 8 cells?

The key is counting mitotic cycles:

1 → 2 → 4 → 8

That is 3 cycles.

3 hours 24 minutes = 204 minutes

3 × 204 = 612 minutes.

Official answer: B.

Which IB Biology resource should you actually use?

Official IB ✅
BioNinja ✅
Revision Village ✅
Save My Exams ✅
Kognity ✅
InThinking ✅

But they are NOT all for the same purpose.

Use the right resource for:
🧬 learning
📝 revision
📊 exam questions
🎯 finding weaknesses

And always check that it matches the CURRENT IB Biology syllabus.

Which one do you use most?

The IB Biology Internal Assessment has changed.

Collaboration can now be allowed — but this is NOT a group IA.

Students still need individual research questions and individual reports.

The assessment criteria have also changed from five criteria to four:

Research Design
Data Analysis
Conclusion
Evaluation

And Conclusion + Evaluation now make up 50% of the IA marks.

Watch the full comparison and test yourself with the question at the end.

AP Biology 2026 | Results and Exam Intelligence

What can the latest AP Biology results tell students?

In this video, I break down:
• score distribution
• strongest unit
• weakest unit
• hardest FRQ
• what separated scores of 3, 4 and 5

This is exactly the kind of exam intelligence students need before their next AP Biology exam.
