👩‍⚕️My Week as a Y4 CMED Student at CUHK-Shenzhen School of Medicine

Hi everyone! I’m Sydney, a freshman student at CUHKSZ MED- here’s a little glimpse into my life 🤍

I started my morning with a mentor meeting and English class before taking a little break to cook lunch at my dorm. Then I joined the PharmAceso activity where I got to make a hair mask in the Pharmaceutical Science lab for the first time, which honestly felt both exciting and nerve-racking 🧪

Later, I went to a volunteering teaching activity, and I was genuinely surprised by how enthusiastic and curious the students were — it ended up becoming one of the most meaningful parts of my day ✨ After a biology tutorial, I wrapped up the night with dance practice and rehearsals for our International Day performance with the dance team 💃

Coming to university was honestly scary at first because I knew nobody and was afraid to step out of my comfort zone, especially with extracurriculars and volunteering. But through trying new things, I found unforgettable experiences and amazing friends who made this journey so much more meaningful 🤍

👩‍⚕️ Hi everyone! I’m Claire, a sophomore international clinical medicine student at CUHK-Shenzhen, come spend a day with me
🧾 I used to think medicine was just lectures and endless textbooks…but this year proved me so wrong ✨
🤍 Now our days are a mix of theory and real life practice, and it honestly feels completely different
📚 Morning started with an Immunology lecture
Not gonna lie, it’s tough… but also really interesting
When you actually understand how the body responds to different triggers, it stops being just memorization and everything start to make sense
🔬 Afternoon was dissection lab
Still surreal every single time… but also strangely beautiful
Seeing the human body in real life just hits different ❤️
🧫 Outside class, I’ve started working in a research lab
It’s slower, sometimes frustrating, sometimes exciting, but this is where curiosity really grows!
☕️ And in between everything, small moments to breathe-coffee runs, random walks, late night chats with friends
❤️ It’s only my sophomore year, but it already feels like I’m stepping into something bigger
