I have heard about East China Normal University from my supervisor who studied in East China Normal University, China. He said, the college has condusive learning environment whereby students and teachers are very friendly and co-operative. Then I decided to explore more information from the internet. I found that East China Normal University is of the best in the world University ranking. So I decided to apply for PhD studies at East China Normal University to grow intellectually.

Hello, my name is Mellina. My Chinese name is 妈丽哪。I am glad to be part of the ESPR program at ECNU. Before joining the education program I had a masters degree in International Relations also obtained from ECNU. Since I arrived in China, ECNU has been my home away from home. My application process was great. I applied through my embassy and after a successful series of interviews I was offered the CSC Type A Embassy Bilateral Scholarship to fund for my studies. The ESPR program is very rigorous and well rounded. I enjoy the lectures from the faculty team and thought provoking discussions we have in class. I am looking forward to learning more and interacting with my peers and professors.

Hello everyone! I am Angyr and I’m a student of ECNU and my major is Education Policy Studies. I would like to share my application experience with you! Firstly, let me briefly introduce myself. I am from Russia, from republic of Tuva, this is a very colourful and unique region in my country! As for my application experience, I started to prepare my documents since December 2021. I would like to mention that sometimes it was a very bumpy way, but it definitely worth it! My bachelor was about teaching, so I chose my major of Master degree about Education. I think it would help me a lot in achieving my career goals. After I chose my Major, I had to start my paper preparation. I was preparing for my Study plan, language test and interview with professors! To be honest, I was scared a lot! But it is a huge experience and personal growth, so I very appreciate it. In the middle of the summer I got a dreamy email and didn’t realise for a while. But now I’m at the campus, writing this letter and smiling in my dorm room. Gentle advice to those who would like to start application preparation: wholly understand what you want from yourself in your life, what are your goals and dreams and don’t be afraid! All professors and teachers are very kind and open here! If you have any questions or difficulties, they definitely will help you! Thank you for your attention! #2022 ECNU Admission Guide of Master's Program #

🎬ECNU Master's Program Admission Guide for International Students

❄Duration: 2-3 years

❄Beginning: early September

❄Application Deadline: Jun.15th, 2022 (Scholarship application deadlines please refer to the Scholarship Section)

🎤

1. Non-Chinese citizen with a valid passport.
2. Bachelor or higher education degree.
3. For Chinese-taught programs, HSK-5 with a passing score of 210 or HSK-6 with a passing score of 180 is required. For English-taught programs, an effective English Language Test Certificate or official proof of taking English-taught programs (details refer to the Language Proficiency Certificate) is required. Native English speakers do not need to submit the English Proficiency Certificate.

🎤 Documents

💕1. ECNU International Students Application Form
✨Please log in to the online application system at lxsapply.ecnu.edu.cn to fill in and print out the application form.

💕2. Certificate of Bachelor or Higher Education Degree
✨① Scan copy of original documents. If documents are not in Chinese or English, a notarized and translated version in Chinese or in English is required.
✨② Graduating students should provide a certificate of impending graduation, and the estimated graduation time should be earlier than August 31, 2022. Original graduation certificate and diploma should be submitted for registration.

💕3. Official Academic Transcript (Bachelor or Higher Education Degree)
✨Original or notarized copy documents. If documents are not in Chinese or English, a notarized and translated version in Chinese or in English is required.

💕4. Language Proficiency Certificate

✨① For Chinese-taught programs:
effective (within 2 yrs) HSK certificate ( HSK-5 over 210 or HSK-6 over 180).

✨② For English taught programs:
English Language Test Certificate or official proof of taking English-taught programs. Other equivalent English proficiency certificates (must be reviewed and approved by ECNU).
a) English Language Test & Baseline
IELTS(academic): 6.0 (overall)
TOEFL: 80
Cambridge English: B2
b) Proof of Taking English-taught Program
① Bachelor or Higher Degree is taught in English and test language is English as well.
② Official proof with official institution letterhead should be issued by the university, such as registration office or academic affairs office, instead of the department of the university or supervisors.

💕5. A Study or Research Plan
✨Words: no less than 800 words
✨Language: Written in Chinese for Chinese-taught programs or English for English-taught programs.
✨Content: Include but not limited to personal study or work experience, academic research outcome, research plan of master’s program, personal goal after graduation.

💕6. Two Recommendation Letters
✨Written by scholars who hold the title of associate professor or higher, or senior professionals in a related academic field. Written in Chinese or English. The issue date of the recommendation letter should be later than September 1st, 2021. Recommendation letter MUST include title of the recommender, place of work, contact phone number, email address, and recommender signature.

💕7. Photocopy of Passport (Include personal information page and Chinese visa pages if you have been in China)

💕8. Effective (within 6 months) Health Certificate
✨Physical examination report must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form, and provide a detailed blood test report. Incomplete forms or forms without the applicants' photograph, a sealed photograph of the applicant, the official stamp of the hospital, or signature of physician are considered invalid.

💕9. Non-criminal Certificate (notarized photocopy in English or Chinese).

💕12. Applicants for Master program of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages should ADD:
✨① HSKK Intermediate ≥60;
✨② An essay related to the major (around 1000 words).

Log into ECNU International Students online application website: http://lxsapply.ecnu.edu.cn. Please register and submit the online application. Upload your application documents and pay the 800 RMB application fee online, which won’t be refunded.
* Scholarship applicants should also register and submit the application form on the scholarship website.
✨Track your application status online✨
Pay attention to your email box or log into your ECNU online application account to check your application status.
* Make sure your email address is correct and check your email box from time to time, otherwise you might miss some IMPORTANT INFORMATION, eg. the arrangement of interview, etc.
✨Admission and university enrollment✨
The result of your application will be announced both in your application account. Admitted students must follow the prescribed dates on the admission letter to register and bring the original graduation certificate and degree certificate for check. Your enrollment will be canceled without providing the relevant certificates.
