Amazing Opportunities!
The thirty-three graduates in the SHBS Class of 2025 continue to receive fantastic admissions results from excellent colleges and universities around the world.
While missing EA or ED dreams can perpetuate uncertainty, in our advising—and as a community—we know our students have the perspective and resilience to recognize there will still be tremendously good choices for their future. So too we support and celebrate all students as they explore and understand where they'll best thrive, and how the growth they've achieved at SHBS will continue to flourish.

SHBS Debates!
On Monday during our CAS period, students held this semester’s debate club competition: if artificial intelligence progresses to a point of self-awareness, ought it to be granted human rights?
With perspectives that ranged from the primacy of biological life to the prospect of carbon-based prejudice, from the potential for a capacious reading of the history of human rights to notions of justice and individuated accountability, students delved deeply into questions that may well define our shared future.

College conversations!
SHBS proudly co-hosted with Soong Ching Ling School this Thursday’s InitialView Shanghai college fair with over thirty admissions officers from a diversity of amazing US colleges and universities. For two hours, hundreds of students had the opportunity to make connections, expand their horizons, and explore future possibilities.
We are also grateful to have facilitated a mock application workshop for school-based counselors, with insightful feedback and engaging debate from our higher education colleagues.
Through collaboration, in practice as well as a model for our students, we’re thrilled with the event’s success.

Advising Insights!
SHBS was honored to host Dr Xiaofeng Wan on the first stop of his book tour for “Congratulations! You Are Accepted,” which reflects his remarkable personal experience as an international student and his vast professional wisdom as a long-time international admissions officer at Amherst College.
In his remarks, Dr Wan highlighted the unique opportunities offered by US liberal arts institutions, and the essential importance of students’ self-discovery as they consider life beyond high school. Dr Wan also generously took many questions from, and continued in conversation with, SHBS families. We are grateful for his time!
