The Beijing National Stadium, universally known as the "Bird's Nest," is an architectural marvel located on the Olympic Green in the Chaoyang District. Built to host the 2008 Summer Olympics, the 80,000 to 91,000-seat venue famously features an interwoven steel lattice that resembles a massive bird's nest.
Architecture Designed by Swiss firm Herzog & de Meuron in collaboration with Chinese artists, the stadium utilizes over 42,000 tons of interwoven steel.
Most tours to the Great Wall include stops at the Beijing Dragon Land Superior Jade Gallery, the city's largest state-run jade factory. It features carving demonstrations, informational presentations on identifying genuine jade.
