Program on Creativity + Innovation (PCI) is a teaching program at NYU Shanghai. Two new activities will begin at PCI in 2017-18.

The academic year 2016-17 marked the beginning of an in-curriculum presence for the Program on Creativity + Innovation (PCI). A total of eight courses were offered, counting towards a variety of majors and attracting a total of approximately 200 enrollees. The courses were: Creativity Considered; Innovation, Shenzhen Style; Innovation in/of Daily Spaces; Entrepreneurship Explored; Design Thinking;

IMBX-SHU 104 Communicating For Influence is a new course delivered by Prof. Yanyue Yuan.

This course aims to guide students to review and create their own learning profiles as they learn to engage a diverse range of targeted audience.

The course will be taught in a workshop style with project-based approaches, integrating guided discussions and practices, students’ project work, and self-reflection and peer-review.

This year, the NYU Global InnoVention Competition is the culmination of three parallel prototyping and student innovation challenges operating out of the three campuses at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, NYU Abu Dhabi, and NYU Shanghai.

Entrepreneurship Experienced is a new course at PCI. Starting from Spring 2021, it is going to be taught by Prof. Gabrielle CHOU.

Gabrielle is a serial entrepreneur. In 2000, she started ChinaLOOP that she sold 4 years later toACXIOM. In 2010 she created MOOD BY ME, a Digital Native Brand producing custom fashion pieces on-demand. She sold MOOD BY ME in 2015 and founded Allure Systems in 2017. AllureSystems is serving fashion brands with an AI solution to produce images at scale.

She has lived in Shanghai for 25 years with a 3 years hiatus in the US following Allure Systems selection to the Y combinator accelerator program. Gabrielle graduated with a Doctorate in Intellectual Property Law from Paris University, and a Master in Law from London University(Queen Mary College).

The Rules of Co-opetition 11/01/2021

At the very beginning of the new year 2021, another new piece of strategy article The Rules of Co-opetition has been published in the Harvard Business Review, January–February 2021 Issue. The authors are Adam Brandenburger and Barry Nalebuff, the NYU Stern & NYU Shanghai professor and Yale professor. They are also the authors of the famous game-theory book Co-opetition, which is first published in 1996.

Echoing what the authors said at the end of the article, we hope that a right mindset could help the world to tackle the current challenges, such as the COVID-19, in our era.
