Daily self-moxibustion during chemotherapy found to be feasible and acceptable 02/05/2026

Daily self-moxibustion during chemotherapy found to be feasible and acceptable

Chemotherapy-induced pancytopenia remains a serious challenge in cancer care because falling blood counts can lead to treatment delays and dose reductions, with associated impact on survival, as well as potential infections, fatigue, and lower quality of life. Although granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) can help in some settings, it is not routinely indicated for every regimen and may add cost and side effects. Moxibustion, a traditional heat-based therapy used on acupuncture points, has been studied in East Asia for symptom relief and possible support of blood counts, yet it has rarely been tested in Western mainstream oncology care. Thus, there is a need to carry out in-depth research on whether self-administered moxibustion can be safely and practically integrated into conventional chemotherapy support.

Why AI is becoming a powerful tool in cancer drug discovery 17/04/2026

Why AI is becoming a powerful tool in cancer drug discovery

AI is no longer just a support tool in drug development. This paper shows how it could help build faster, smarter, and more personalized cancer therapies, while also exposing the scientific and regulatory hurdles that still stand in the way.

Why AI is becoming a powerful tool in cancer drug discovery This Perspective reviews how AI is moving drug discovery from long, costly experimental pipelines toward earlier clinical translation, with an AI-designed TNIK inhibitor trial serving as an important proof-of-feasibility reference point. It argues that precision oncology could benefit from AI-driven...

Enriched environments improve stroke recovery and reduce brain inflammation 12/04/2026

Enriched environments improve stroke recovery and reduce brain inflammation

Stroke is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. Its recovery is often challenging as most of the stroke survivors remain chronically disabled, with motor deficits affecting a significant percentage of patients. Stroke recovery continues long after the initial injury stabilization. In the early recovery period, during the first weeks after the insult, the brain enters a prolonged phase of repair and inflammation. This chronic response can strongly influence poststroke recovery and long-term disability.

The poststroke recovery environment plays an important role in the healing process. Recent studies suggest that environmental enrichment (EE), a recovery setting that combines greater physical activity, sensory stimulation, and social interaction, can improve recovery. However, how the stimulation affects poststroke brain inflammation and white matter pathology is not well-understood.
