Monthly Recap: EMA in November

November is a month of final exams, but for Fudan's SOE EMA students, it was also filled with engaging events and networking opportunities!

Career Guidance Workshop
Together with the partners of CGL Consulting, students explored recruitment trends in China's global enterprises, gained valuable insights into CV writing, and discussed common mistakes to avoid when applying for jobs in China.

Company Visits
The Core Competencies for Career course organized visits to leading companies, including the French luxury fashion house Hermès Maison Shanghai and Fuiou, a prominent Chinese financial services and technology company.

Custom EMA Jackets
This November, all EMA students received their specially ordered, branded jackets featuring the EMA and SOE logos—a perfect gift for the season!

Econoontime - A Luncheon with SOE Students
This gathering brought together faculty and students of Fudan's School of Economics for a heartfelt lunch, accompanied by performances on traditional Chinese musical instruments and warm, friendly conversation.

Final Projects and Exams
At the end of November, students concluded their fall semester courses and are now ready to enjoy the winter break. We look forward to what December has in store!

Mothly recap: EMA in October

The month of October has been filled with the joy of holidays and the business of midterms. This is how it went for Fudan SOE EMA students!

10.01-10.08 Mid Autumn Festival Holidays
In the beginning of the month, the students enjoyed a week-long holiday. Some utilized the time to explore China, others chose to study on campus and appreciate Fudan mooncakes!

10.18-10.19 "Reading China" Two-day trip to Tianmu Lake
The most exciting trip of this month took place Liyang and Tianmu area. 40 students enjoyed the two-day adenture switching from a bus to a cable car, to a hike, to a ship, and back to the bus. In the meantime, they tried local delicacies, saw pandas, got to the top of the mountain, enjoyed the rainy breeze and met local cats!

10.26 Fudan Campus Orienteering Adventure
Organized for all international students, this quest created a journey into Fudan's culture. Our students participated in a race discovering every corner of Fudan Handan campus while finding hidden clues and winning the prizes.

10.29 Meet and Greet
Last week, we enjoyed delicious Shanghainese food together with our fellow international masters students at Nanyuan Fudan Restarurant. Eating and sharing experiences together helped the students to know each other better and plan for the future activities together.

10.25-10.31 Thesis proposal defence for Double Degree students
Our two-year Double Degree students have all successfully defended their proposal theses and collected valuable feedback from the comittee. We wish them luck for their thesis work this year!

Hi! I’m Ilona, from France, and I’m currently studying at Fudan University as part of a double Master’s degree in International Business. After studying in Hungary and South Korea, coming to Shanghai has been a whole new adventure, both academically and culturally.

What brought me to Fudan is my strong interest in understanding how China shapes today’s global economy. This program has allowed me to explore very interesting subjects and I’m currently working on my thesis about e-commerce in China.

Life in Shanghai is really exciting and fast-paced. Whether it’s discovering local neighborhoods or sharing experiences with students from all over the world, every day brings something new.

Studying at Fudan has been a unique opportunity to grow both personally and professionally and I’m looking forward to what comes next!

On April 13, Fudan University co-hosted the 2025 Shanghai High-Level International Talents Exchange Conference & Job Fair, connecting international students with top companies like Alibaba, Xiaomi, JD.com, and Bank of China.
The event featured job opportunities, industry talks, and a Study-in-China Consultation Zone with leading universities. It was a valuable platform for international talents to explore careers and further study in China.

EMA Student Introduction🌍

Hey everyone! I’m Máté, and I’m from Hungary. Right now, I’m studying Finance here at Fudan University in Shanghai, as part of the double degree program with Groningen University in the Netherlands. It’s been such an exciting experience to study in two incredible countries and get a broader perspective on finance and business.

I chose to study at Fudan because Shanghai is such a great city with endless opportunities, especially in the finance world. This is my first time in China and every day, I get to experience and learn about the country and its culture. I also get to learn from great professors, connect with amazing people from all over the world, and get involved in projects that are shaping the future of global business.

When I’m not studying, you’ll probably find me exploring the city, catching up with friends over coffee, or enjoying the beautiful campus here at Fudan. The international community at the university has made me feel right at home, and I’m constantly learning from my peers who bring different experiences and viewpoints to the table.

I’m excited to share more of my journey with all of you and see where this incredible adventure takes me! 😊📚
