It was in 2017 that the China Atomic Energy Administration and the Ministry of Education of China came up with the idea for the Atomic Energy Scholarship of China (AES). The purpose of AES is to help fund the education of promising students, technicians, and administrators from developing nuclear power appl
ication countries who wish to attend universities in China. The educational program has been assigned to Harbin Engineering University. The AES Program will establish a professional education system coordinated by the government, universities, and enterprises, and will be guided by the needs of the international community in its pursuit of nuclear power professionals through its use of the education platform of international nuclear professionals, its adoption of a diverse and double-supervisor training mode, and its reliance on a double-supervisor training model.
