Topic of the Sleep Managment In this Tuesday at Idea Exchange-Guangzhou China,
Sleep is vital for our health and immunity, for memory organisation and dream quality. We spend nearly a third of our lives sleeping but far too little attention is paid to it. Many of us are depriving ourselves of sleep and confused over how and when we should get it.
Sister Sapna will share her research into sleep and talk to us about sleep duration, sleeping habits and disorders. She will also conduct a short meditation session during her talk.
Sapna is a senior Raja Yoga Meditation teacher and a management trainer of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University in Rajasthan, India. She lives and works here in Guangzhou, developing and delivering self-management training programs. She has worked for many industrial groups in India giving leadership courses to business executives.

Idea Exchange presents..A Journalist in Guangzhou
We owe a great debt to journalists. Their insights and opinions inform our lives. But Chinese journalism has had some bad press recently! Reports show record numbers of journalists in China are leaving the profession. Their reasons include bad pay and low morale as well as technological change.
So we’ve invited a well-known journalist and local celebrity Matt Horn to speak to us about his work in journalism. He will share his thoughts on starting out and what it takes to be a good journalist, the art of interviewing, and how social media is impacting on the industry he loves. He will talk about the many highs, and a few lows, of his career here.
Chances are you’ve already seen Matt hosting a media show or public event. He’s a radio and TV host for popular shows like My Guangdong and Face Time. He also lectures on the subject and writes for newspapers such as China Daily, Global Times and That’s PRD. In 2012 he was awarded the Guangdong Friendship Award by Guangdong Province, and in 2013 became a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) awarded by Queen Elizabeth II.

Odors act as powerful triggers which affect our emotions and our memory. They are used commercially by airlines, hotels, shops and offices. Studies reveal how some odors can make new born babies stop crying, and how the smell of grapefruit makes ladies feel younger.
Our biztalk speaker this month is a scent expert from Taiwan who will tell us trade secrets from the perfume industry, and how we can benefit from them. We’ll also get a chance to sample different scents and make our own perfume.

Dear Guangzhou Friends, Please join IDEA EXCHANGE on this Tuesday. We have the best speaker Mr.John, with the topic of The Art of Mountain Biking
In less than 50 years, mountain biking (MTB) has grown from a niche hobby of ex-hippies in Northern California to a global phenomenon, spawning World Cup events since 1989, and a cross-country event in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. In addition, more and more people are finding the mountain bike a great way to tour foreign countries on holiday in a way no other means can afford.
Here in Guangdong, where much of the world's bicycle frames and components are manufactured, John will talk about his own passion for the sport and explain and share thrilling video of some of the many disciplines in modern MTB that will be sure to get your heart racing and your mind planning the next opportunity to get on your bike.
John Knauss is from USA and works in Guangzhou as a free-lance writer, illustrator and drama teacher. He’s also a popular speaker and this will be the third time he’s given an IE talk. At the weekends there is nothing he likes better than to throw his leg over a mountain bike frame.

Biztalk this Tuesday! I can't be there this week but it's going to be really good.
Shivi Sabharwal is a prominent member of the Indian community in Guangzhou. He started in business at the young age of 15 years and now after 37 years and many ups and downs will share his experience. Over the last 10 years, his trading company has grown from 2 to 37 employees. It has succeeded in Guangzhou from literally no money in hand.
Shivi will share insights into what it takes to be successful in business, and show us that lack of funds or opportunities are lame excuses for not starting your own business. In fact, it’s entirely possible to start and grow a business with almost no personal financial investment, if you know what you’re doing and have the right attitude.

Australia is often called ‘the Lucky Country’. It’s the 17th largest economy in the world but with fewer people than live in greater Guangzhou! Despite cultural dislocation and environmental degredation, it’s a place of clean modern cities, vast open spaces and a remarkable culture stretching back thousands of years.
Viola Liang Xu went to Australia with rmb5000 in savings and came back with rmb100,000 along with a wealth of new experiences. She will tell us about some of the varied jobs she did, the friends she met and her 3 month stay with an aboriginal community in the central Australian outback.
If you think you already know about Australia, come listen to an alternative account from a Chinese girl who is not afraid to embrace the unknown. She has returned with a lot of practical advice about how to have your great Australian adventure.
