December marked a meaningful milestone for KLIS as we celebrated our 10th Anniversary under the theme “A Decade of Moments & Dreams. ”This was more than a celebration—it was a moment to look back on a journey we have walked together .Ten years, for a school, represents both foundation and growth. On that day, students, parents, faculty, and partners gathered to reflect on what KLIS has become through shared commitment and trust.

At KLIS, science has never been a subject confined to textbooks. Instead, it is a process of continuous exploration, repeated testing, and the courage to solve real-world problems.
This month, our long-anticipated Engineering Fair took place as scheduled. From KG to G8, students presented the scientific projects they had carefully designed and built, showcasing to teachers and parents what student-led learning and Project-Based Learning truly look like at KLIS.

At KLIS, we believe that gratitude is not just a slogan but a genuine emotion that can be passed on. This autumn, the KG students collectively created a Thanksgiving "turkey" decorated with messages written in their budding English handwriting: "Thank you for smiling and giving me a second chance every time I answered a question wrong." They presented this gift to their homeroom teacher. Behind this small token lies not only the children’s appreciation for their teacher but also a lesson in "seeing" and "expressing"—learning to recognize love hidden in the details and understanding that expression allows emotions to flow. Such genuine interactions are an ongoing part of daily education at KLIS: through classroom sharing, community service, family tasks, and more, we encourage students to start from their immediate surroundings, to perceive and pass on gratitude.

Preschool-as the foundational stage of the AmericanPreschool-12 education system-is often a child's “first stepaway from home and into a collective learning environment. Children aged 2-5 are at a stage filled with curiosity about the world, emotional sensitivity, and the need to form secureattachments. What abilities should we prioritize during this period? And how can we protect their innate nature while helping them build foundational skills that will benefit them for life?
At KLIS, we believe education is not aboutrushing to fill children's backpacks with knowledge, but about lighting the lamp withintheir hearts first. We invited three preschool teachers-Ms.Joy, Mr. Derrek, and Ms. Anna to share their insights on the remarkable growth of these “little learners."
