On May 16th, renowned Greek theater director, theater educator, and theorist Georgina Kakoudaki visited CCAA's Theater Education Workshop. Using the timeless work "Antigone" by famous Greek playwright Sophocles as material, she provided teachers and students with an interactive theater education experience that transcended time and space, re-enacting the classic line, "I was born to join love, not hate. This is my nature."

On April 24th and 25th, embracing the morning sun and spring breeze, Chengdu University hosted its 35th Sports Games, the first in three years. As youthful vigor met the heat of summer, the spirit of competition intertwined with cheers and shouts, bringing together participants from across nationalities and seas. During the opening ceremony of the sports games, 65 international students from various countries across five continents proudly wore their national costumes and waved their flags, fervently displaying their enthusiasm.

Under the azure sky, on the sports field, students from various colleges competed together, sweating profusely and striving hard to enhance the prestige of their colleges. Among them, Korean student Kook Chang Hwan clinched the third place in the men's 100 meters, Vietnamese student Duong Hoang Duy Luong took second place in the men's high jump and eighth in the triple jump, and Indonesian student Brahma Yudha secured the second position in the men's shot put. Although the event lasted only two days, it was enough to create rich and enduring memories. Whether they were newcomers or soon-to-be graduates, this experience at the sports games is likely to become a profound and enduring memory of their studies at Chengdu University!

At 20:00 on August 8, 2023, Beijing time, the closing ceremony of the 31st Universiade in Chengdu was held. The closing ceremony is based on the excavation of the "innovative" and "optimistic" characteristics of Chengdu people. It integrates regional culture and popular performance forms among young people, collides with an art form that meets the aesthetics, and expresses the freedom and romance of Chengdu people.

From July 28 to August 8, the Chengdu Universiade has completely changed or affected the lives of Chengdu people. In fact, the life of Chengdu people has been labeled as the Universiade. This closing ceremony brought the Chengdu Universiade to a perfect end, but the future of this thriving city under the snowy mountains will also start from here.

On the evening of July 28, the 31st Summer Universiade was grandly opened in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. KAMONLAK WAENPET, a Thai student from CCAA, as an outstanding student representative of Chengdu University, ignited torch of the Universiade together with 30 other torchbearers.

As a 2022 postgraduate student majoring in product design of the CCAA, KAMONLAK WAENPET performed well during her studies, actively participated in various domestic and foreign cultural exchange activities of the school, and enthusiastically participated in various voluntary services.

Recently, NOUNBAIKHAM MOUKPALAKHAM, a Lao student from CCAA, as an outstanding student representative and the third prize winner of the 13th Beijing International Film Festival, participated in the torch relay as the 109th torchbearer.

"It is a great honor and pride to be able to participate in the torch relay, I am fortunate to meet outstanding seniors from all walks of life, and they led the new generation of young people with their spirit of hard work." This experience is unforgettable for her, and she feels delighted to contribute her own youthful strength to the Universiade.

In addition, NOUNBAIKHAM MOUKPALAKHAM is also a volunteer for the Universiade, serving as a reception assistant for foreign guests in the Universiade Village, and will welcome guests from all over the world, further convey the beauty of Chengdu to the world. The Universiade is not only a stage for competition, but also a stage for youth exchanges around the world. She hopes that the athletes can play their best, enjoy the process, enhance communication and build friendship.
