How to embroider Sutra House on the Dragon Robe 繡龍袍（2）——繡經幢

Shaded Satin Stitch started in the Tang Dynasty and became quite mature in the Song Dynasty. Stitches of irregular shaded satin stitch are reasonably scattered, with very natural transition of the color. No stitch-trace can be found in its application. It is good at expressing the integration of colors of different shades and changes, possessing the effect of shaded dyeing in Chinese paintings. We could use this advanced stitch for Bird feathers.
運用套針繡制作品時，繡線的“套接”不露針跡，擅長表現色彩的深淺融匯和變化，具有中國國畫暈染的效果。散套的針腳散落有致，顏色的過渡非常自然。

This needlework of Stem Stitch follows the curved line of patterns through connection. Threads for such embroidery should be fine and the length of the stitches should be arranged properly to make the lines flowing, natural, and vivid.
遊針隨所繡圖樣的曲線順勢轉折，並相互連貫。繡線要細，針腳長短要安排適當，方顯得線條流暢，自然生動。

Embroidery is done by the slanted satin stitch in slanted short lines seemingly encircling the pattern. The needle is brought out from one side and inserted on the other side, always keeping in the same direction. The slanted satin stitch can change the angle of embroidery threads flexibly to control the direction of embroidery. It is usually applied to create small leaves, stems and branches and embroidery threads are generally of a single color.
纏針用斜行的短線條好似纏繞圖案一樣繡制，針從一側刺出再從另一側刺入，方向始終保持一致。纏針能變換繡線的角度，靈活轉折，控制刺繡的方向，一般用於小型的花葉、花莖，樹枝等，且繡線用色一般為單色。
