THE POWER AND BENEFITS OF A COMMITTED MENTEE
Yesterday's mentorship session with Impact LINJO was a timely reminder that mentorship is not just about having access to a mentor—it's about being committed to the process. Here are some life-changing lessons I took away:
🌱 1. A mentor is like a farmer.
A farmer can plant the best seed, but the harvest also depends on the condition of the soil and how well the seed is nurtured. Likewise, a mentor can give you wisdom, direction, and opportunities, but your growth depends on your commitment, obedience, and willingness to apply what you learn.
📖 2. Many people desire mentorship but don't understand its responsibilities.
Mentorship is more than attending meetings or receiving advice. It demands humility, discipline, consistency, accountability, and a teachable spirit.
🚀 3. A committed mentee sees mentorship as an opportunity, not an obligation.
They don't show up just to attend meetings—they come to learn, grow, improve, and become better versions of themselves.
🔥 4. Commitment unlocks transformation.
The greatest benefit of mentorship is not information but transformation. When a mentee remains committed, the lessons received eventually become the life they live.
My biggest takeaway:
A mentor can guide your journey, but only your commitment can determine your destination.
Thank you, Impact LINJO, for another impactful session. I'm challenged to remain teachable, committed, and intentional about my growth.

Sometimes, God speaks in the quiet moments.
After the first day of the leadership conference, where we were taught on Servant Leadership and challenged about the dangers our privileges can present, I found myself the next morning sitting beside the majestic Mount Cameroon with my recorder flute.
As I played, something beautiful happened.
Every note carried me back to the lessons from the previous day. The peaceful atmosphere, the cool breeze, the breathtaking view of God's creation, and the sound of the flute created a moment of deep reflection.
In that moment, one thought settled in my heart:
"Lord, I will not allow the privileges You have given me to become obstacles to the next move of God in my life."
I paused and prayed:
"Thank You, Jesus, for every gift, every opportunity, and every privilege. Help me never to abuse them. Keep my heart humble, teachable, and committed to serving You and serving people."
The recorder flute is more than an instrument to me. It awakens memories, stirs my spirit, and creates moments where God gently reminds me of truths I must never forget.
And being beside the mighty Mount Cameroon made the experience even more unforgettable. Surrounded by God's magnificent creation, I was reminded that the One who created mountains is still shaping hearts.
Thank You, Jesus, for this beautiful gift. May I always be a faithful steward of every privilege You place in my hands.
🎶❤️ Sometimes, all it takes is a flute, a mountain, and a listening heart for God to speak.

Message Two.
What is Servant Leadership?
Servant leadership is a Christ-centred approach to leadership in which the leader's primary desire is to serve God and others before serving themselves. It is leadership marked by humility, love, sacrifice, and a genuine commitment to helping others grow. A servant leader influences through character, not control; through service, not status.
As Jesus said:
Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant — Matthew 20:26
Principles of Servant Leadership by Julius ESUNGUE
✅ Humility before Authority
True leaders never allow their position to make them proud. They remain humble, teachable, and dependent on God.
✅ Service before Status
Leadership is not about titles or recognition. It is about meeting the needs of others with love and excellence.
✅ Sacrifice before Comfort
Servant leaders willingly give their time, energy, and resources for the benefit of those they lead.
✅ People before Programs
People are God's greatest investment. Effective leaders value people more than projects, activities, or achievements.
✅ Character before Competence
Skills may open doors, but godly character sustains lasting leadership and earns genuine trust.
✅ Faithfulness before Fame
A servant leader seeks God's approval rather than human applause, remaining faithful even when no one is watching.
May God raise a generation of leaders who do not seek to be served but are passionate about serving others, just as Christ did.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve...— Mark 10:45

A HOLIDAY WASTED IS A FUTURE DELAYED
Every holiday is an opportunity to grow, not just a time to rest. The skills you learn, the books you read, the values you build, and the time you invest in God and personal development will shape your tomorrow. Don't let this holiday pass without purpose. Use it wisely, because today's preparation determines tomorrow's success

🚨 WHEN PRIMARY SCHOOLS PROMOTE ADULT ENTERTAINMENT: WHO IS SHAPING THE CHARACTER OF OUR CHILDREN? 🚨
Recently, I have watched several videos from school graduation ceremonies and end-of-year celebrations. What I saw left me concerned.
Children in primary schools dancing to songs meant for adults.
Children imitating dance moves they barely understand.
Children performing in ways that would have been considered inappropriate in a school setting just a few years ago.
The question is:
Who is shaping the character of our children?
Schools are more than places where children learn Mathematics, English, Science, and Social Studies.
Schools are institutions that help shape values, attitudes, behavior, and character.
What children repeatedly see, hear, sing, and practice eventually becomes part of who they are.
This is why the choice of music, dance, and entertainment in our schools matters.
A child may not fully understand the message behind a song, but they will imitate its words.
A child may not understand the meaning behind certain dance moves, but they will copy them.
A child may not know the values being promoted, but they will absorb them.
And that is where the concern lies.
When did school celebrations become platforms for children to imitate adult entertainment?
When did educational institutions begin rewarding performances that do not reflect the values they are supposed to teach?
When did character formation become less important than applause and social media attention?
Education is not only about passing examinations.
It is also about developing responsible citizens.
It is about teaching respect, discipline, self-control, integrity, and good judgment.
If our schools are producing children who can solve equations but cannot distinguish between what is appropriate and inappropriate, then something is missing.
If the foundation is weak, the structure built upon it will eventually suffer.
This is not a call to stop children from dancing, celebrating, or expressing themselves.
Children should dance.
Children should sing.
Children should celebrate their achievements.
But they should do so in ways that are suitable for their age and that promote positive values.
Why not encourage cultural dances?
Why not promote poetry, drama, creative arts, and educational performances?
Why not celebrate talent in ways that uplift rather than imitate every trend seen on social media?
The future of our society is sitting in today's classrooms.
The children we entertain today will become the leaders, parents, teachers, and citizens of tomorrow.
The question is not whether children should celebrate.
The question is:
What values are we teaching them while they celebrate?
💬 What are your thoughts? Should schools be more careful about the music and dance performances presented by primary school children during graduation and end-of-year ceremonies?

🚨 WHAT SKILL SHOULD YOUR CHILD LEARN THIS HOLIDAY? 🚨
The school year is almost over, and soon many children will be at home for weeks.
As parents, guardians, and educators, we need to ask ourselves an important question:
What will our children gain from this holiday apart from rest?
We are living in a time when having a certificate alone is no longer enough. Every year, thousands of young people graduate from schools and universities, yet many struggle to find opportunities because they lack practical skills.
This is why holidays should not only be a time for sleeping late, watching television, or roaming around the neighborhood. Holidays should also be a season of learning, growth, and preparation for the future.
Imagine a child who spends the holiday learning:
✅ Computer literacy
✅ Graphic design
✅ Video editing
✅ Tailoring
✅ Hairdressing
✅ Baking
✅ Farming
✅ Public speaking
✅ Music and arts
✅ Electrical installation
✅ Entrepreneurship
That child returns to school with more than academic knowledge. They return with confidence, creativity, and a skill that could become a source of income in the future.
Parents, this is not about putting pressure on our children. It is about preparing them for the realities of the world they are growing up in.
A child who learns a skill today may create jobs tomorrow.
A child who discovers a talent today may build a successful career tomorrow.
A child who develops practical abilities today may become more independent tomorrow.
Let's stop seeing holidays as a break from learning.
Let's start seeing holidays as an opportunity to build the future.
This holiday, don't just ask:
❌ "Where is my child going?"
Ask:
✅ "What is my child learning?"
Because the greatest gift we can give our children is not only an education that fills their minds, but also skills that empower their lives.
💬 Which skill do you think every child should learn before returning to school? Share your thoughts in the comments.
