In many of our communities, Down syndrome is still misunderstood. Some believe it's a curse, that a child with Down syndrome cannot learn, or that they'll never grow to be independent. None of this is true — and these myths often keep children away from the love, support, and opportunities they deserve.

The truth is simple: Down syndrome happens in every kind of family, everywhere. With patience and the right support, children with Down syndrome can learn, communicate, make friends, and build real independence — just at their own pace.
