Hello, welcome to the TriTips series where we will be posting 3 quick tips at the start of every week, on various life skills to help you start the upcoming week slightly better than the previous one.
Today we will help you Master Any Skill 📚🚗🏍🏀⚽⛸🎸🛠 with the following tips:
1. Deliberate Practice🎷🎹 : Deliberate practice is defined as being effortful in nature, with the main goal of personal improvement of performance rather than enjoyment, and is often performed without immediate reward. You must practice delayed gratification and focus solely on getting better, regardless of how you feel about it.
2. Goal and feedback system🏁🖋🧾: The goals you set should be difficultly within reach. They shouldn’t be too easy, else you’ll be roaming in your comfort zone. Rather, they should be slightly above your current skill level. This would push your brain to break down barriers in the learning phase. Hence, you’ll be a step better than you were at the start.
In addition, you need adequate feedback from people around you. Especially expert feedback, e.g. An instructor. This will not only help save time but will help with giving you the right foundation to mastering more complex techniques or methods still to be learned.
3. Mental Representations: This is a key one. You should start visualizing yourself performing at a level slightly above your comfort zone. This will ensure that you never set limits on what you can do. Hence, providing endless opportunities for you to exploit your potential fully.
Exercise of the week:
- Write down what activity you are currently trying to get better at. Based on the above, write down a plan of how you will work towards getting better at that activity.
Have a blissful week😊.
