```IELTS TEST MODULES EXPLAINED

The IELTS exam consists of four modules: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. Each module assesses different language skills and abilities.

1. Listening: In the Listening module, test-takers listen to recordings of conversations and monologues and answer questions based on what they hear. The recordings cover a range of topics and accents to test the test-taker's ability to understand spoken English.

4. Speaking: In the Speaking module, test-takers participate in a face-to-face interview with an examiner. The interview consists of three parts: an introduction and interview about familiar topics, a short presentation on a given topic, and a discussion with the examiner on related issues. Test-takers are evaluated on their ability to communicate effectively, use a range of vocabulary and grammar structures, and engage in a conversation.

All incoming students are required to take the English placement test for placement into the appropriate course level. Upon completion of each level, students will progress in a sequential manner through the program. The IELTS exam consists of four main modules:

2. **Reading**: The Reading module evaluates your reading comprehension skills. It includes three long texts that range from descriptive and factual to discursive and analytical. There are 40 questions in total, and the texts are taken from newspapers, magazines, journals, and books.

3. **Writing**: The Writing module assesses your ability to present information in a clear and coherent manner. It consists of two tasks:
- Task 1: You will be presented with a graph, table, chart, or diagram and asked to describe, summarize, or explain the information in your own words.
- Task 2: You will be given a topic and asked to write an essay in response, presenting and justifying your opinion or argument.

4. **Speaking**: The Speaking module evaluates your ability to communicate effectively in English. It is a face-to-face interview with a certified examiner and is divided into three parts:
- Part 1: Introduction and interview
- Part 2: Long turn (you will be given a topic to speak about for 1-2 minutes)
- Part 3: Discussion (a more in-depth discussion related to the topic in Part 2)

Each module contributes to your overall band score in IELTS, and the scores are reported on a scale from 0 to 9.
