This should not be happening in our schools... All children must be included.

Every child deserves it

If you are a teacher copying notes on the board and turned your eyes from the board to ensure every child is writing and found one young man wearing "self made glasses" and writing, what will you do ? The glasses are making others to giggle and stop writing but, he is writing 🤷♀️.
We encountered this scenario in our Year 2 class during the term as Mrs Arinze brought King David Peter to my office wearing his glasses. According to him, he could see the board better wearing his glasses (who are we to question his claim? Are we in his eyes?🤷♀️).
The glasses were made from strings of bread wraps he had been gathering from home .👍
We found this intriguing so the glasses are on the shelf in my office pending further investigations as we may just have a young inventor in school.
FOR TEACHERS:
If this happens in your class, please don't punish the child as his act may have caused disruption in your class since others maybe laughing instead of copying their notes ( children will always be children)
Rather, seek ways to nurture and further inspire this young mind.
For schools, we can add awards like - The most creative or innovative child as this will spark some creativity (you never can tell the number of inventors you have in your setting 🤷♀️)
We have a column in our lesson plan called plenary - This is a section where we ask critical thinking questions that sometimes aren't directly linked to the topic of discussion.
FOR PARENTS:
This is holiday, we could help our children think sometimes by turning off the TV to make them bored for awhile, this boredom could spark some creativity that may have been hidden or stifled .👍😀.
FOSTERING CREATIVITY IN CHILDREN 💡🔦🕯️⚡🤔💪👍.
Creativity in children is the INNATE ability to use imagination, curiosity and original thinking to explore, solve problems and express emotions.🤔.
It is nurtured through unstructured play, providing open - ended materials and allowing time for boredom 😀.
I may have emphasized the fact t

Have you read about any SEN case before making your judgement?

Can a special Educational Needs child trust you as a teacher ?
most parents really feel down whenever they can't trust the care of their child with the teacher.
How can we build genuine care between SEN children and teachers?
