The draft new constitution of Gabon has been unveiled by the President, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.
According to the new text, the president is elected for a seven-year term renewable only once. In order to guarantee the limitation of presidential terms to two, this provision cannot be reviewed, even in case of a constitutional amendment.
Another article prohibiting President's descendants from succeeding him.
The document will be submitted to a referendum on November 16 and will allow the return to constitutional order.
