During today’s Beads Craft club activities, students showcased some of their beaded works.

The focus and passion are what I love to see in our students as they gradually develop their beading skills.
In today's beading class, they worked on rings, bracelets and chokers using 6/0 beads, fishing twine and needles. The focus was on the use of needles in the production.

Given that the first term of this academic year is gradually coming to an end and students are focused on writing their second sequence exams, our club activities will go on a short break. We will resume fully in January 2024.

To commemorate the upcoming Menstrual Hygiene Day, some members of the Beads Craft Club, G.H.S Bolifamba made period bracelets today which will be distributed to some female students in school tomorrow during activities aimed at sensitizing the students on menstrual hygiene.

The Menstruation Bracelet, which was created by MH Day, is a worldwide sign for menstruation. The bracelet is made up of 28 beads, one black bead, and four red. The number 28 represents the average length of a cycle, and the number 5 represents the average length of time for menstruation.
The period bracelet helps girls to accept their femininity and get rid of the period stigma.

𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲!📿

After a brief hiatus due to second-term holidays and exam preparations.

Today's task involved stringing beads to create what are commonly known as traditional necklaces. Emphasis was placed on how to effectively string and tie the thread at the end to prevent beads from falling off over time and also how to pair the beads together to get balance and striking colours.

In addition, the students made bracelets and earrings to complement the necklaces. They were engaged in their work for over two hours, and you could sense the room's energy, creativity, and vibes.

Hopefully, by the end of the month, we will have another session before going on holidays.
