Question: HOW DO I KNOW I AM BORN AGAIN?

COURSE INSTRUCTOR ANSWERS!
The question of whether we are truly born again is one of the most important questions any person can ask. The Bible provides clear answers so that we do not have to live in doubt.

1. You Know Because You Have Believed and Confessed

The first and most foundational way to know you are born again is that you have done what the Bible says leads to salvation.

Let us read from Romans, chapter 10, verses 9 through 10:

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

If you have believed in your heart and confessed with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, then according to the unchanging Word of God, you are saved.
Your feelings are not the judge; God's Word is the judge.

2. You Know Because You Have the Witness of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit Himself bears witness with your spirit that you are a child of God. This is a deep, inner conviction and assurance.

Let us read from Romans, chapter 8, verse 16:

"The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God."

This is not a loud voice but a quiet, steady knowing in your innermost being that you belong to God.

Final Encouragement

Do not base your assurance on how you feel on any given day. Feelings change. Instead, base your assurance on what God's Word says.
If you have met the conditions of Romans 10:9–10—believing in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessing with your mouth the Lordship of Jesus —then you are saved, born again, and a child of God.

Let us read from First John, chapter 5, verse 13:

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God (that is, unto you that are saved); that ye may know that ye have eternal life..."

God wants you to know—not merely hope, but know—that YOU HAVE eternal life.

Question: IS THERE A PARTICULAR AGE RANGE FOR ONE TO GET BAPTIZED?

The Bible never sets an age requirement for baptism. It's not about your age—it's about your heart.

Baptism is a public step of faith, and it is meant for anyone who has personally believed in Jesus and chosen to follow Him.

Let's consider the Ethiopian eu**ch in Acts 8. Philip was divinely led to him, and beginning from the very Scripture the eu**ch was reading, Philip preached Jesus—the full message of salvation. The eu**ch listened, and faith arose in his heart.

As they travelled, they came to some water, and the eu**ch asked, "See, here is water; what hinders me from being baptized?" (Acts 8:36).
In Acts 8:37, Philip told the Ethiopian official, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." Notice—he didn't ask for an ID card or a birth certificate. He asked for one thing: DO YOU BELIEVE?

WHAT TRUE BELIEF MEANS

The Bible is clear: baptism is for believers.

A believer is someone who is saved (1 Corinthians 14:23 KJV). Being saved means that this person has heard the Gospel—the message of salvation—and has trusted in it (Ephesians 1:13 KJV). It also means that this person has confessed with their mouth that Jesus is Lord while believing in their heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9 KJV).

So a believer is someone who:

· Heard the Gospel—the good news that Jesus died for their sins and rose again.
· Trusted in that message—placed their faith in Jesus.
· Has believed that God raised Jesus from the dead.
· Has publicly confessed the Lordship of Jesus.

SO WHO IS READY TO BE BAPTIZED?

Let me put it this way:

· If you're a child and you genuinely understand that Jesus died for your sins, was raised for your justification, and you can believe in your heart that God the Father raised Him from the dead and confess His Lordship with your mouth—then you are ready.

· If you're a teenager or an adult who has just received Christ—you are ready.

· If you're much older and have newly come to faith—you are equally ready.

Baptism isn't for infants or toddlers, because they can't yet make that personal decision or confession. But the moment you are old enough to know, believe, and choose for yourself—whether you're 7, 17, or 70—you qualify.

The Simple Test

So don't let age trouble you. Let this be your test:

· Have I truly believed in Jesus?
· Have I confessed Him as my Lord?

If your answer is yes, then baptism is your next step—your beautiful, public declaration that you belong to Him.

Question: IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE BORN AGAIN AND YET NOT HAVE THE INFILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

It is possible to be a believer—born again—and yet not have received the Holy Spirit (the infilling). The Scripture shows this clearly in Acts 8:14–17, where the Samaritans had believed and were baptized in water, but the Holy Spirit had not yet fallen upon them; Peter and John laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

Also, in Acts 19:1–6, Paul met disciples who had believed but had not even heard that the Holy Spirit had been given. So do not think that being born again or being a believer automatically means you have received the Holy Spirit. That is not so. However, as a believer who is born again, it is possible for you to receive, and it is God’s will that you do receive. Therefore, every believer should earnestly desire and ask for the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
