Over the past few days, something truly inspiring unfolded at the second edition of UBa Tech Camp.
We brought together students from different schools, departments, and backgrounds, some with no tech experience at all, others eager to sharpen their digital skills. But no matter where they started, they all had one thing in common: a strong desire to learn, grow, and be part of something meaningful.
Throughout the camp, participants engaged in practical, hands-on sessions covering foundational computer skills, data analysis, and computer networking through project-based learning. These weren’t just lectures, students were doing the work, solving problems, and supporting one another.
One of our core goals is to help bridge the digital divide still present in our communities, and we saw the impact firsthand. Some students who could barely use a computer, did amazing projects, analysed data, or understood how networks function and more. Others weren’t sure how technology connected to their studies or future careers.
At the UBa Tech camp, we tackled these challenges head-on. We created a safe and inclusive space where students could ask questions, make mistakes, and grow together. We showed them that technology isn’t out of reach, it’s a tool they can start using right now to work smarter, and unlock new opportunities.
By the end of the camp, the transformation was clear. Students weren’t just gaining digital skills, they were gaining confidence. They were leading group discussions, completing real-world tasks, and discovering how much they’re capable of in the world of tech and IT.
UBa Tech Camp isn’t just about training it’s a movement. One that’s helping young people realise that technology can change lives, and they don’t have to walk the journey alone.
We’re proud of every student who took part, and grateful to every facilitator and supporter who made it possible.
