According to Eighth Generation's Decolonizing Partnership Model, "cultural artists are the best stewards and caretakers of their art. Their works carry the unique beliefs and history of their tribal community, while providing them a livelihood."

Quite often indigenous art and fashion is disrespectfully copied by mainstream and fast fashion brands. If you want to buy authentic indigenous products, be sure to buy directly from an indigenous designer or brand themselves. You will be directly supporting and contributing to their livelihood, and they are the experts on what can be sold to non-natives.

Here is a guide to find the most authentic, indigenous-created fashion.

Women and girls continue to be victimized by traffickers. And it will continue as long as men can legally buy s*x, especially in countries where conflict, extreme poverty, and other crises accentuate existing vulnerabilities.

Oftentimes, s*x trafficking within a country’s borders gets ignored as it’s “just prostitution” and considered a line of work. In this way traffickers often can avoid accountability, but if prostitution remains a prosperous business, especially in trafficking-thriving countries, it will only increase.

One option, called the Nordic Model, criminalizes the purchase of s*x and pimping but decriminalizes prostituted individuals, has been implemented in Norway, France, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Canada, and Israel with significant success in reducing the trafficking of women and the s*xual exploitation of children.
