Reflection With Chaplain Johnas mbakwa .
Thursday 2nd April 2026.
Easter week celebration .

Welcome to the Easter Celebration
Beloved in Christ, I warmly welcome you to this Easter season—a time of joy, reflection, and renewal. Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the cornerstone of our faith. It is the assurance that death has been defeated, sin has been conquered, and eternal life is secured for all who believe.

As the Apostle Paul declared:
“And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.” (1 Corinthians 15:14, NIV)

✨ What is Easter?
Easter is the fulfillment of God’s promise throughout Scripture. It is the climax of salvation history, where Jesus, the Lamb of God, offered Himself as a sacrifice, was buried, and rose again on the third day. This event is not only spiritual but also historically attested, with scientific and archaeological confirmations supporting the biblical record.

🔬 Historical and Scientific Confirmations of Easter

1. The Death of Jesus
- Roman crucifixion has been confirmed by archaeology, with remains of crucified victims discovered bearing nails through bones.
- Ancient historians like Tacitus and Josephus (non-Christian sources) recorded Jesus’ ex*****on under Pontius Pilate.
- Medical studies show crucifixion leads to death by asphyxiation, blood loss, and shock.
- Scripture:
- Isaiah 53:5 – “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
- John 19:30 – “When he had received the drink, Jesus said, ‘It is finished.’ With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”

2. The Burial of Jesus
- The tomb was publicly known in Jerusalem, making verification possible.
- Archaeological evidence of rock-hewn tombs from the first century matches the biblical description.
- Scripture:
- Isaiah 53:9 – “He was assigned a grave with the ...

MPASAT / St. Louis Junior Academy Achieves Regional Recognition

On March 31, 2026, MPASAT/St. Louis Junior Academy made history by being honored at the regional level as one of the two best technical schools in the region.

Our school proudly secured first place with the innovative project developed by our Computing Technology Department:

MPASAT Smart School Security Attendance System (SSSAS)

The only other school selected for this recognition was GBTHS Bamenda. This achievement is a powerful sign of progress and dedication, and we give thanks to God for guiding our vision.

At MPASAT:
- Technical students study alongside vocational training.
- Grammar students combine their studies with vocational training.
- Commercial students also integrate vocational learning.

This unique approach ensures that every student gains practical skills alongside academic knowledge.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Regional Delegates for Secondary Education and their team for their encouragement and support.

It is important to note that MPASAT was represented in this competition solely by this project, as other departments could not attend due to distance constraints.

Special recognition goes to the Computing Technology Department team and all our vocational trainers whose dedication made this success possible.

Thank you for believing in our vision and for helping us achieve this milestone.

The United States, Israel, and Argentina are the only nations that voted against a United Nations resolution recognizing the slave trade as "the gravest crime against humanity."

The resolution, spearheaded by Ghana, received 123 votes in favour, with 52 abstentions and three against.

The US, one of the greatest beneficiaries of the transatlantic trade that saw between 10 to 12 million Africans forcibly transported across the Atlantic, stood among the minority opposing the text.

Historians note that the largest number of enslaved Africans were taken to North America, where they laboured on plantations and in construction projects that helped build modern-day America.

The dispute over the abolition of the slave trade was, in fact, a primary factor that plunged the United States into a deadly civil war from 1861 to 1865.

The current resolution is being hailed as a breakthrough at the UN in acknowledging the inhumane cruelty inflicted upon Africans. It also calls for reconciliation and reparations from countries that orchestrated the slave trade.

"This resolution is a pathway to healing and reparative justice. This resolution is a safeguard against forgetting," said Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama.

Most European countries that masterminded slave trade, including Britain, Spain, France and the Netherlands, abstained from the UN vote. Russia and China voted in favor.

Chaplain Johnas Mbakwa.

‭Colossians 1:13-14 NIV‬
[13] For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, [14] in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

col.1.13-14.NIV

Jesus Christ has triumphed over satanic powers:

1. Colossians 2:15

> “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

2. Hebrews 2:14

> “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.”

3. 1 John 3:8

> “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”

4. John 16:33

> “In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

5. Revelation 1:18

> “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”

These verses reveal that through His death and resurrection, Jesus completely defeated Satan, stripped him of power, and secured eternal victory.

1. Luke 10:19

> “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

2. Mark 16:17-18

> “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils… they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them...

3. Psalm 91:13

> “Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.”

4. Romans 16:20

> “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.”

5. 1 John 4:4

> “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

Jesus Christ is Lord.

🔥 “I want to see a new people, fired with the love of God and the love of man.” — William Booth
🔥 “Go for souls and go for the worst.” — William Booth

True revival burns with love' love for God that consumes pride, and love for souls that compels action. The heart that carries heaven’s fire cannot stay silent while men perish. This was the cry that birthed the Salvation Army' souls, souls, and still more souls for Jesus.

09/10/2025

One major thing he said you should do is to win souls. Our Bible reading for today says you can become Jesus' friend and I'm telling you, when you befriend the Lord you become very influential because of your relationship with He who has influence across all realms (Phillipians 2:10). When you become friends of Jesus Christ, doors open to you automatically. I can tell you stories upon stories about countries that refuse to register the Redeemed Christian Church of God and the same people will call us back within months to offer us our registration certificate. When you are a friend of Jesus, you will do what He commanded in John 15:14-15- win souls and make sure they abide. If you do this, He has promised that anything you ask in His name , He will do it . That is great influence.

In John 12:32, the Bible says if you will lift Jesus, He would draw all men to Himself. If you keep on preaching, witnessing and winning souls, men will come from all over the place to meet with you. Thus, if you want to be influential, 2 Timothy 4:2 says you should preach in season and out of season. Preach when it is convenient and when it is not convenient. If everyone of us reading this devotional today goes out and wins at least one soul today, imagine how much rejoicing would be in heaven because of us. Do your part and He will surely do His. - E.A Adeboye
