Below are admission requirements for admission into the first year, one year top-up bachelor's degree, transfer cases, and Master's degree programmes;

1. Photo copy of GCE Advanced Level or TVEE Advanced Level, or BACC,
2. Photo copy of GCE Ordinary Level or TVEE Intermediary Level, or CAP,
3. Photo copy of Birth certificate,
4. Photo copy of National ID card or international passport for foreign students,

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR VOLUNTARY SERVICE

Students of NPUI are hereby invited to volunteer to work on campus during the period of July 15th to August 30th 2024.

NATURE OF WORK

The volunteers shall be required to;
1. Clean cobwebs on buildings on campus,
2.Sweep and mop lecture halls, and,
3.Clear grass around the campus, etc.

Volunteers shall be provided with necessary working tools.

WHO CAN APPLY?

NPUI students on holidays resident close to the campus. Do not apply if you live far away from the campus

TIME OF WORK

Volunteers shall be required to work effectively from 8. am prompt to 1.pm every working day. Work shall commence on July 15th and end on August 30th 2024.

NUMBER OF VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Ten (10) volunteers are needed.

MOTIVATION

At the end of the this exercise, volunteers shall be given a motivation of twenty five thousand (25, 000) francs each and an attestation of voluntary service.

HND/HPD/BTS/DSEP CERTIFICATES FROM 2008 TO 2022 ARE AVAILABLE FOR COLLECTION IN THE MINISTRY OF HIGHER EDUCATION

The Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education inform candidates who passed HND Examination from 2008 to 2022 that their original certificates are now available in the Ministry for collection. Deadline for collection is July 31st 2024. After this deadline, penalty will be imposed. Laureates must collect in person using the following documents;
1. Clean photo copy of Success Testimonial/Transcript (HND Slip),
2.Clean photo copy of National ID card,
3.Clean photo copy of birth certificate,
4.Clean photo copy of GCE advanced level or Baccalaureate
5.Equivalence certificate for those who wrote HND using foreign A/L or BACC

The certificates can be collected from the Directorate of Coordination of Academic Affairs (DCAA), 13th floor of the Ministry of Higher Education in Yaounde. Take note that you must collect in person ie, only the owner can collect. Authorisation/procuration is not accepted.

WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) ?

Artificial intelligence is the theory and development of computer systems which are able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages.

In simple words, artificial intelligence is the science of making machines or computer systems that can think like humans. They can do things that are considered "smart." AI technology can process large amounts of data in ways unlike humans. The goal for AI is to be able to do things such as recognize patterns, make decisions, and judge like humans. It is the idea of making machines that can perform tasks just like humans, ie, take smart decisions and make reasoned judgements like humans.

Artificial intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. Specific applications of AI include expert systems, natural language processing, speech recognition and machine vision.

Artificial intelligence (AI) programming focuses on cognitive skills that include the following:
1.Learning: This aspect of AI programming focuses on acquiring data and creating rules for how to turn it into actionable information. The rules, which are called algorithms, provide computing devices with step-by-step instructions for how to complete a specific task.

2.Reasoning:This aspect of AI programming focuses on choosing the right algorithm to reach a desired outcome.

3.Self-correction: This aspect of AI programming is designed to continually fine-tune algorithms and ensure they provide the most accurate results possible.

4: Creativity. This aspect of AI uses neural networks, rules-based systems, statistical methods and other AI techniques to generate new images, new text, new music and new ideas.

In layman's terms, artificial intelligence is the establishment of machines or computer systems that think, reason, and performance tasks that are normally done using human intelligence. AI thinks, recognises and do things just like humanbeings. AI= machines thinking, reasoning, recognising and doing things just like humans, and even better or more accurate.

HOW TO OBTAIN A RECOMMENDATION/REFERENCE LETTER FOR ADMISSION OR EMPLOYMENT

Most Universities and employers, (especially foreign institutions) do request for reference/recommendation letters from applicants for admission or employment purposes.

Reference/recommendation letters are issued by lecturers who taught you and can assess your ability and not University administration.

Please make sure you contact the lecturer you want to be your referee or recommender and have his/her approval before including his/her name as your recommender or referee on any form. Most lecturers are often reluctant to issue recommendation letters because it entails cost. The letter has to be written, typed, printed and mailed to the requesting institution. This may entail cost. You are therefore advised to take charge of the above cost if you are in need of a recommendation letter.

When requesting your former lecturer to issue a reference/recommendation letter on your behalf, make sure you send to him/her scanned or photo copies of your academic credentials. From this, he/she will be able to assess your ability and competence. Equally furnish him/her with information concerning the purpose of the reference/recommendation letter. Is it for admission or employment? If it is for admission, then give him /her details about the course you are applying to study. Your recommender need this information to be able to write a good recommendation or reference letter for you.

BREAKING GOOD NEWS

CENTRIA UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES KOKKOLA, FINLAND, AND NATIONAL POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE BAMENDA ON FEBRUARY 13TH 2024 RENEWDED THEIR PARTNERSHIP.

By this renewed agreement, there shall be exchange of staff and students between the two institutions. Students selected from NPUI to travel to Finland for exchange programme shall be exempted from paying tuition fee/s at Centria University of Applied Sciences Finland and vice versa. It is worthy of note to mention here that tuition fees for one academic year at Centria University of Applied Sciences Kokkola, Finland is about four million francs CFA. This shall be waived for selected NPUI students. Exchange students from NPUI shall study at Centria University of Applied Sciences for a year. This is same for Centria students coming to NPUI for Exchange programme from Finland.

This mutually beneficial partnership agreement between Centria University of Applied Sciences Finland and National Polytechnic University Institute Bamenda started in 2010. Many students from NPUI benefited from this partnership in the past. Majority of them are still living and working in Finland up to date.

Level 200 and MBS Level 300 students at end of first semester examination 2023-2024 academic year. Examination started on January 30th and ended on February 3rd 2024.
