Salitang Ugat: Pamana ng Katutubo
(An Activity on Sharing Indigenous Words and Their Meanings)
Objectives
a. To promote awareness, preservation, and appreciation of Indigenous languages and vocabulary.
b. To encourage learners, teachers, and parents to share meaningful words from various Indigenous communities.
c. To foster cultural pride, inclusivity, and respect for Indigenous heritage through social media participation.
Mechanics
1. Participants
a. Open to all learners, teachers, parents, and stakeholders of J. Santiago Integrated High School.
b. Participation is voluntary.
2. How to Join
a. Visit the Official page of JSIHS.
b. Look for the official post about “Salitang Ugat: Pamana ng Katutubo.”
c. Share your entry by commenting directly on the post.
3. Entry Format. Each participant may share one (1) Indigenous word using the following format:
a. Word: (Katutubong salita)
b. Meaning: (Translation in Filipino or English)
c. Origin: (Name of IP community or region)
4. Posting Period
Entries may be posted within the month of October 2025 as part of the school’s Monthlong Celebration of the National Indigenous Peoples Month.
General Guidelines
1. Participants are encouraged to consult parents, elders, or community members for authentic and accurate words.
2. All comments will be screened first by the organizers and will undergo verification before approval to ensure accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
3. Respect for Indigenous culture and language must be observed at all times.
4. Offensive, irrelevant, or inaccurate posts will be removed by the page administrator.
5. All verified entries will be recognized and featured as part of the celebration highlights.

Opisyal na binubuksan ng J. Santiago Integrated High School katuwang ang BARKADA (BARkadahang KAtutubo para sa Dunong at Adhika) ang Monthlong Celebration of the 2025 National Indigenous Peoples Month na may temang:
📌 “Pagpapalaganap ng Kulturang Katutubo: Paghubog ng Pagkakakilanlan at Pagkakaisa.”
Layunin ng pagdiriwang na ito na kilalanin, pahalagahan, at ipagdiwang ang mayamang kultura, sining, at kontribusyon ng ating mga Katutubong Pamayanan.
Halina at samahan nyo kaming ipagdiwang ang mga makulay at makabuluhang gawain ngayong Oktubre!

Halina at makiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Indigenous Peoples Month and IPRA Commemoration ngayong buwan ng Oktubre.
Tuwing Oktubre, ipinagdiriwang natin ang Buwan ng mga Katutubong Pilipino at ang ika-28 na taon ng pagkakapasa ng Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA).
Inaanyayahan ng National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) ang lahat na makiisa sa pagdiriwang ng mga yaman at kontribusyon ng Katutubong Pamayanan sa Pilipinas. Ipagmalaki natin ang kanilang kultura, tradisyon, at tungkulin sa pag-unlad ng bansa.

Program Proposal Presentation & Planning Meeting
In preparation for the Monthlong Celebration of the 2025 National Indigenous Peoples Month, a planning and designation meeting of the Technical Working Group (TWG) was held last September 24, 2025 at the HUMSS 12 Classroom, JSIHS.
The meeting was led by Mr. Edwin M. Caniete, BARKADA Adviser and Program Proponent, together with BARKADA and SSLG Officers, Club and Classroom Presidents, and other student leaders.
With collaboration and unity, the TWG is now set to bring to life a meaningful celebration that will honor, preserve, and promote our Indigenous heritage under the theme:
"Pagpapalaganap ng Kulturang Katutubo: Paghubog ng Pagkakakilanlan at Pagkakaisa"
