Today our teachers participated in a Mental Health Professional Development session facilitated by the team at Education and Mental Wellness Services.
There were many meaningful discussions and practical ideas shared on how teachers can identify and manage stress, recognise the signs of burnout, and prioritise their wellbeing☺️
As educators, we spend so much of our time caring for and supporting others. Today’s session was a timely reminder that we cannot pour from an empty cup. To effectively support and nurture our students, colleagues, and families, we must first prioritise our own wellbeing and ensure our own cups are full.
We ended the day on a positive physical wellness activities, including a fun netball session led by Mrs Motu and an enjoyable Ura (dance) class led by Chantelle. These activities highlighted the importance of staying active and connected as part of maintaining our overall wellbeing.
A big Meitaki Maata to the team at Education Christine and Mental Wellness Services Team for sharing their knowledge, energy, and encouragement with our staff
💚✨
“Take care of yourself first. When your cup is full, you can better support and uplift those around you.” 🌿🤍

Kia Orana Parents and Caregivers,
Please find attached what’s happening at Apii Avarua during Week 7 and Week 8.
We have noticed that a few of our students have come down with the flu. With the cooler weather upon us, we kindly ask families to help keep our tamariki warm by ensuring they bring a jumper or jacket to school and stay hydrated throughout the day.
If your child is unwell, please keep them at home to rest and recover before returning to school.
Thank you for your continued support.
❤️🤍💙 Apii Avarua. Kia Rangatira!
