The Music Circle with Michelle Glass

A personal post today... I got trolled for the first time last night.

I had a mixture of emotions, I have to admit:

✨ Have I finally made it? My posts and adverts are being seen, and people are taking notice, woo-hoo!
🤔 Bemused that someone would take the time to leave a horrible, racist comment. Don't they have more important things in their life?
😤 Annoyed that someone is taking pot shots at me - a tiny, independent one-person business trying to make a difference and bring the joy of music and movement to little kids.
😡 Angry, because this person doesn't know me or anything about what I do and yet chose to criticise and attack me because of where I live and the language I spoke.

So, let me be clear about something:

The Music Circle is an inclusive class open to EVERYONE.

It welcomes native and non-native English speakers. Yes, the class is in English - that is the product I offer. My aim is to bring FUN to families who want their children to be exposed to a language that they will learn at their local school.

To let children begin their musical journey in life with music, instruments, singing, rhythm, and dancing that are FUN. Children learn best in a FUN environment where we wiggle, giggle, shake, rattle, and enjoy the moment🥁

Look at the prices I charge: I don't make a huge profit doing what I do - in fact, I'm lucky if I break even!

Too honest? I don't care! 💛

I started doing this class on a voluntary basis, now I'm self-employed. Money has never been the incentive. It was always about giving back to the community that welcomed me and helped me and my family make friends when we needed them. It is about bringing people together. This class has given me purpose in a country where I couldn't find a job.

So in the end? Resignation.

There will always be haters. There will always be ignorant, self-absorbed people with their own agenda. So I will simply play the music louder to drown out their noise! 🎶🔊
