Welcome Back, Glen Cove! 🍎
Glen Cove City School District faculty and staff gathered yesterday morning for Superintendent’s Conference Day to reflect on accomplishments from the past year and prepare for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. Thank you to the Board of Education for their continued support and to Board President Meghan Lavine for attending.Â
Superintendent Dr. Alexa Doeschner opened the conference by celebrating a year of strong academic data and proud achievements across academics, the arts, music, and athletics. She recognized student and staff honors, districtwide celebrations of inclusion and diversity, and recent media coverage, and she highlighted the District’s balanced approach to emerging technology such as AI. Echoing the message she shared with the graduating Class of 2026, Dr. Doeschner encouraged staff to set a few clear goals and timelines and to dare to fail greatly as the District navigates the challenges of the fifth human era, that of augmented AI.
Assistant Superintendent Bryce Klatsky presented the annual theme, “Fewer Things, Deeper Work, Progressing Together.” This initiative aims to streamline district priorities to ensure consistent implementation without adding unnecessary administrative burden. The segment wrapped up with reflections from 2026 graduates honoring the teachers who made a lasting impact on their lives.
Assistant Superintendent Theresa Kahan celebrated updates on completed facilities projects across the District, highlighting how these improvements support our instructional programs, students, staff, and community.Â
Assistant Superintendent Andrew DiNapoli welcomed new staff and led the recognition of long-serving employees, honoring our greatest resource, our people.
The district proudly honored staff members for their years of service, celebrating dedication and commitment to Glen Cove students.Â
Thank you to all educators and staff for their ongoing dedication to our students and schools. Best wishes for a productive and successful 2026–2027 school year!
