We’ve opened the UNSW Housing Analytics Lab in Sydney’s Tech Central to bring together experts, industry, government and not-for-profits to co-design solutions and inform critical future planning.
The new lab centralises housing data from different areas in the sector to find breakthroughs to problems like affordability, the shortfall of social homes and the stifled development pipeline.

Congratulations to the UNSW community members who have been awarded Australia Day Honours this year!
Founding Director of the UNSW Centre for Sustainable Materials Research & Technology, Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla has been appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia, recognising her distinguished service to science, materials research, technology and waste management.
“It means so much and reflects on the many people who have been part of my journey,” says Prof. Sahajwalla. “What drives me and the team at the UNSW SMaRT Centre is developing solutions for real world materials sustainability challenges.
“This just motivates me even more.”

🏆 For a 2nd year in a row the Australian Financial Review has named UNSW the top university in Australia for most employable graduates! 🎓
UNSW also maintained second place in the Research category and scored highly on Equity, achieving fourth place out of 40 Australian universities!

UNSW will be hosting our in-person UNSW India Open Days in November 2024.
This event will be an excellent opportunity for prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students, parents, counsellor teachers and other key partners in the region to experience UNSW, right here in India.
The dates of the event are:
New Delhi – 23 November 2024
Mumbai – 24 November 2024
Bangalore – 20 November 2024
We are primarily looking at meeting students interested in joining UNSW in February 2026 intakes and beyond, as we might have only a few spots available for 2025 intakes.
