Pharmacy Facts
Bringing conceptual clarity to the "pharmacy and medicines use" in an increasingly globalised world.

Background and context
Research was scant in pharmacy 20-25 years ago, and there were very few published studies on topics related to pharmaceuticals, policy, practice, and education specifically in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Though the number of studies has increased in recent years, however, there are several issues where misguided, and factually incorrect information is available to the pharmacist community, consumers, governments, and policy officials alike.

The list is exhaustive but some of these issues are ( not limited to) “pharmacist prescribing”, the role of educational techniques to change the health system, the pharmaceutical industry and innovation, drug discovery in, generic medicines, vaccines development, developing a policy for medicine pricing, the limitation of antibiotic stewardship, the expansions and roles of community and hospital pharmacists etc.

Aims and objectives.
In this context, this informal network aims to promote an understanding of concepts and facts related to pharmacy and medicine use.
