Hell in Shell 20/05/2023

Heart rending tales here!

Hell in Shell When Chinazam Emeka-Okoli went for an appendicitis surgery, the surgeon at Shell Clinic told his parents it was a simple 30-minute procedure.

Tompolo and the Amnesty Deal – THISDAYLIVE 24/12/2022

“It is therefore important to note the close correlation between armed conflict in the Niger Delta and illegal oil bunkering. It is recommended that effective monitoring and checkmating of illegal oil bunkering is an essential requirement for arms control and conflict prevention in the Niger Delta.” The panel further wrote: “The Nigerian Navy must be adequately empowered in terms of new platform acquisition to effectively put a stop to illegal bunkering while the JTF should equally be empowered to control the proliferation of light weapons in the Niger Delta before and after the proclamation of amnesty.”

Tompolo and the Amnesty Deal – THISDAYLIVE ‘I—-, residing at—-formerly engaged in militant activities in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria, do solemnly swear, (or affirm) that I hereby renounce all my previous acts of militancy, including my affiliation and allegiance to any militant group and/or organization; and that I will hencefort...

Queen Elizabeth II: Neither Saint nor Sinner – THISDAYLIVE 22/12/2022

She vehemently opposed Nigerian Independence. In 1954, she founded the Nigerian Commoners Liberal Party. She became so popular she later won a seat in Ikirun, defeating the NCNC and the Action Group. She didn’t think Nigeria was ready for independence in 1956 or any other time thereafter, because African politicians simply wanted to replace the British and become colonialists over their own people. She became the leader of a group known in Western Nigeria as “Egbe Oyinbo Mailo” meaning “The White Man Must Not Go Party”. Adunni Oluwole was called a harlot for her political views and her insistence on the rights of women. She has since been vindicated, more or less. Professor Uju Anya may well be reminded that it was the same wannabe African colonialists who have caused the Nigerian civil war, and every other thing that has held Nigeria down, and certainly not Elizabeth II.

Queen Elizabeth II: Neither Saint nor Sinner – THISDAYLIVE Post-colonial relations between former European countries and their former colonies have always been coloured by the memory of colonialism, the heritage of slavery and despite the passage of time, this has remained a continual element between former colonial masters and the sovereign, independent st...

Kenya: William Ruto’s Triumph – THISDAYLIVE 21/12/2022

Their Lordships of the Supreme Court of Kenya deserve applause for giving a ruling that addresses the issues pointedly, promotes stability, and acquits the Court honourably in helping to protect democracy. Days before the ruling, there had been speculations in Kenya that the Supreme Court had been intimidated and bribed by the President and the ODM candidate, Odinga, and that attempts had also been made to bribe the Chairman of IEBC, Chebukati. In the course of the election petition, there had been so much disinformation and misinformation with persons pushing all kinds of conspiracy theories on social media. The big issue in the 2022 Kenya election would seem to be the distrust between the people and their institutions. The petitioners fuelled that divisive factor by simply insisting that there was no way their man could lose.

Kenya: William Ruto’s Triumph – THISDAYLIVE On August 9, the people of Kenya went to the polls to elect a new President, the incumbent President, Uhuru Kenyatta having completed the constitutional two terms in office. There were elections at other levels -governorship, parliamentary and at county levels but the main focus was the Presidential...

There is a little of bit of me with you,
And a lot of us sprinkled around –
Blowing wishes in the wind;
Adding colours to your dreams;
Flowing love through the streams .
In the depths of breaking waves,
Where darkness embraces life –
There is an ocean full of peace;
And a silent harmony in its sound.
Beyond now and before then ;
Suspended in between the end,
Please find a little of bit of me with you
And a lot of us sprinkled around.
